Nice late night action tonight to hopefully finish the parlay with Malisse. Looks like it starts around 10:30pm ET.

Going to side once again, against a player making a quick surface switch and switching to surface that is not his friend to begin with. Santiago Giraldo is the foe for Tipsarevic in L.A. Giraldo was playing on clay last week in Bogota on the Challenger level and lost in the QFs. He hasn't been on a hard court since Miami in March. Tipsarevic may not have much to write about as far as form, but he did bust his US Open Series cherry last week in Atlanta. He lost to Kevin Anderson in straights. He did not play horribly, he just had no answer for the big serve. He won't find Giraldo's nearly as troubling. Giraldo isn't strictly a clay court guy, but his hard court experience is still lacking some as he was mostly struggling to qualify for hard court ATP events a year ago at this time. Tipsarevic showed some form on grass in The Netherlands before faltering at Wimbledon. If he can get his 1st serve in consistently, I think he'll take advantage of Giraldo's surface switch and pull out a close win.

Eagles would you recommend tipsarevic with Malise in a parlay. Do you feel Malise is that strong tonight?

I think Malisse is the stronger play of the two in my own opinion. He's definitely in good form. Tipsarevic is a bit more of going with the gut against a player who prefers clay and was just on it. From a talent standpoint, Tipsarevic isn't that much better a player than Giraldo, but he has a better game for this surface I think. Obviously I guess since I picked both guys to win I would have to say it's got a shot, but it's got some risk involved with it. I don't think Malisse will lose unless he just doesn't give a crap about being in L.A., but Tipsarevic could if he doesn't show up ready to assert himself.

i hope so....but i dont want to jinx it....the game will be on if he wins this set....sela is still in the drivers seat.... the way sela broke malisse easily in the first set is still in my mind...what a horrible performance by malisse

He moves up during the grass court season every year, that is his best surface. This match has been craptacular. Whomever wins won't last long in LA.
