Dolgopolov flamed out in the 3rd. I didn't back him [Thank G-O-D-] but Chardy is f-ing worthless. How you lose to someone like Golubev is beyond me.

#527I THINK I am a moron, but I am playing doubles today in Monte Carlo. Bellucci & Montanes are +175 against Djokovic-Troicki. Djokovic has played one doubles match in 2010 and lost it. He did team up with Troicki here last year and they made the semis. Books expecting a repeat performance I suppose. I'll take a shot that they don't and take the price.Comment -

#530Nah. Just f-ing around with that doubles one for some small cash. Actually though they had a shot to push it into the breaker, but they just blew it late in the 2nd. Monaco just needs to hold his serve two more times.Comment -

#534Things I THINK I Know ... Tuesday, April 13th ...
I THINK once the O/U is set for Serra/Robert, I will side with the OVER. Robert took Serra the distance at Casablanca last week although Serra won it easily in the last two sets. Robert at +185 might be worth it in the revenge spot, but the OVER seems more likely if it's around 21.5 or 22.
I THINK for the purposes of a parlay, you could do worse than pairing Melzer and Verdasco for around -130. Melzer takes on Mathieu who still doesn't look right. Verdasco gets Benneteau who isn't a real threat for the most part on clay, but the price for Verdasco is too much by himself - but should be okay for a parlay, I THINK.
I THINK the best shot for an upset on Tuesday resides with the Russian, Andreev. Nice price of at least +170 against an up & down Cilic. The OVER would also be a prudent wager I THINK in this one.

#535Also, I THINK the common perception is Tsonga is hapless on clay. Not so. He's just not experienced on it. Almagro might be more experienced on clay, but Tsonga has more talent and Almagro I THINK might meet his match. Getting Tsonga at plus money is worth a small shot.Comment -

#537By the way, the Jankovic-Gallovits O/U is set at 18.5 - back into the range of autoplay on the OVER to me. Gallovits played an ITF clay courter last week and won + she's got a match under her belt in Charleston. Not that she's going to win, but Gallovits should keep it competitive enough to get the OVER done today, I THINK if Jankovic takes a little bit to get acclimated to clay after last playing in Miami a few weeks ago.Comment -

#546I think he doesn't enjoy winning unless he has to get 7 games in a set to win.
I am really thinking about going fairly heavy on that Jankovic total if Tsonga can pull this out. Will have made a decent profit this morning and will look to ruin it on WTA.Comment -

#548Interesting match-up for Tsonga next round. Should be Ferrero after he wipes Becker out. The line will be interesting to see where it's set because I'm betting the books will probably set it high on JCF to garner some action on Tsonga. I'd say Tsonga needs to be at least +150 in that match.Comment -

#556Things I THINK I Know ... Wednesday, April 14th
I THINK that the O/U with Murray-Kohlschreiber is one I want to see. Murray played well here in 2009, but he also wasn't in his post-Federer whooped my ass in Australia haze. Murray has no prep for this tournament and has been very protective of himself by playing very little tennis since Australia. Kohlschreiber might be just as lost on any given day in 2010 as Murray seems to be, but he does have a match on-court here. He wasn't particularly impressive against Bellucci, but he did win. Murray may struggle to acclimate early, so that could keep an OVER in order if the # is set at 21.5 or so. 22 or higher and I think it's in that gray area of who the F knows.
I THINK most of the prices for Wednesday are chalky and chalk actually looks like it could rule the day. Parlays therefore, I THINK are the order of the day. Favorites I THINK I can back in parlays: Nalbandian, Ferrer, Ferrero, Monaco & Melzer. Pairing Nalbandian & Melzer gives you the two lowest prices - they combine for a risk of about -104. Melzer has a good edge over Petzschner who generally struggles on dirt. Youzhny had a hot streak late Spring in 2009 on clay, but otherwise doesn't normally outlast the better clay courters. Nalbandian was deadly in Round 1 and if his health issues are continuing to improve, I THINK he can outlast the Russian who has yet to step on dirt this season.
I THINK Juan Carlos Ferrero and the UNDER could be prudent against Becker. Need a good number of 19 or more, but I THINK it would be the play.
Will wait to see the O/U numbers before adjusting these thoughts or adding more.

#558I have no idea. I haven't kept "official" track of my picks in months. I'm just using this thread to talk out loud and voice things I see with the hope that the information will help people. All I can say is I have won more than I have lost in April, maybe 55% or a tad better as a guesstimate.Comment -

#560Murray-Kohlschreiber is 21.5, juice favoring the OVER. I THINK I do like it. JCF-Becker at 19.5, juice favoring the UNDER but very chalky.
Ferrer, Ferrero, Nalbandian parlay, I THINK it's got a chance. Nalbandian should be the final leg and the riskiest.Last edited by EaglesPhan36; 04-14-10, 12:11 AM.Comment
