Nalbandian-Monfeasel should be starting in the next 15 minutes or so. Llodra beat Monaco [3-1]. Stepanek and Troicki battling in the 3rd, tied a set each. I see Troicki's name listed for all rubbers now instead of Djokovic. Looks like Novak will not be participating at all this weekend due to his "gastro" issues.

Crappy start. Monfils pounding winners right now. Nalbandian's serve not holding up too well. Hopefully he gets into a better groove in the 2nd set, this 1st one is toast.

We'll see. Monfils' game plan worked out in the 1st set. He played his "go for it" style and got lots of winners while Nalbandian struggled. This set is crucial.

More so than his winners, it was his serve that won the set for him. If Monfils has to hit his second serve, David should be able to break.

Rollercoaster continues. Monfils serve was back on in the 3rd. Hopefully it falters in the 4th. Tipsarevic off to a decent start, up a break late in the 1st.

Nalbandian blew a break already in the 4th. Don't think he's longed for this match with Monfils pumping out those aces. Too many double faults at bad times too for Nalbandian.

Argentina is obviously done. Only question is can they win at doubles to prolong the inevitable? I'm gonna bank on them not winning and for the rest of those rubbers to be dead. Serbs-Czechs meanwhile guaranteed to get one more singles rubber in, Troicki vs. Berdych. Utterly unbettable match there unless the Czechs win the doubles rubber. If the Czechs win, look for Djokovic to take his spot back. Reports already said he's indicated he would play doubles on Saturday if needed or in singles if it means keeping Serbia alive. However, I think the Serbs will take the doubles and that likely means it's Troicki & Berdych. Berdych's price is likely to be too big to back given his form even if Troicki doesn't inspire much confidence.

Serbs down 2-1 going into Sunday.

Pinnacle already has a line up, indicating that Djokovic is going to play against Berdych.

Djokovic -252. Berdych +229.

Tipsarevic -151 favorite over Stepanek at +139 although they could cancel that one if Berdych wins I suppose. Tough to back either Djokovic or Berdych. Berdych has been horrible in the last couple of weeks although he did show some fight when it was too late against Tipsarevic. Djokovic is tough to peg here. He's obviously playing because it's for his country, but who knows what percentage level he'll be at. It was smart to rest him on Friday, not sure that having him play doubles was smart though today ... although I don't think there was any sort of "gastro" issues with him, I think they wanted to see how long they could save Djokovic depending on the results. Why they can't just say that? Who knows, but that's Djokovic's camp for you. The best match for betting could be that 5th one if it comes about with Tipsy & Stepanek.

Small play Sunday on the OVER at 38.5 for Djokovic-Berdych. Even though Berdych is out of form and Djokovic's health is questionable here, I would find it difficult to see either winning in straights.

Two ATP tourneys this week, just my thoughts heading into them based on the draws.

Open de Moselle [METZ]
Top half of this draw features Cilic, Simon, Kohlschreiber & Ljubicic as the seeds. Cilic is the top seed, but I'm not high on him at all at this point. Simon is an intriguing prospect in this position as he faces mashers like Dustin Brown and potentially Ljubicic or Malisse. On home soil, Simon might make a run. In the bottom half, Robredo and then a load of Frenchies in Gasquet, Llodra and Monfils. Gasquet has a nice draw in the top portion here with Robredo and Istomin looming as the biggest threats. Llodra & Monfils should be fighting for a semifinal spot. I could see whomever makes it out of this portion as a good shot to win it all. If Monfils plays like he did in Davis Cup play, I think he should be the favorite here to win. Consistency though is always questionable, but he is the defending champion.

BCR Open Romania [Bucharest]
Clay tournament here. Montanes the top seed with Chardy, Chela and Seppi in his half. Florian Mayer the highest seed down low along with Hanescu, Starace and Gimeno-Traver. Montanes is the regining champion here and Chardy would be his first test in the QFs. This looks like it could be a chalky tournament. Might not be the best betting tournament for the week. I would think just Montanes for as long as he goes, the rest of the field looks like it might be hard to decipher who gives a shit at this point in the season especially on clay.
