Fish just looked like he didnt have it at all today. After watching the energy and intensity he has played with this summer, it looked like he was just burnt out today. A damn shame! Well today could not have worked out much better unless Venus won to give me two chances to cash big futures, but Clijsters vs. Zvonareva guarantees money and that is what we want here. Zvonareva obviously cashes HUGE at +2200. Riding it out.
As for Youzhny-Nadal, Youzhny had some sort of blister issues vs. Wawrinka. Did not seem to cause problems on Thursday, but Nadal constructs points and works opponents over about as good as anyone. If he moves Youzhny around and the blister is of any concern, Nadal will win easy. Russian's backhand is beautiful, but I really think it's Nadal's to lose without much concern. I'm not a Russian expert, but someone in the crowd on Thursday yelled something at Youzhny in Russian early in the 1st set and Youzhny actually yelled something back at the guy in the upper deck. I don't think he's level headed enough to handle adversity in this spot.Comment -

Nadal's strength seems to be that he can break at any time and his serve is a lot better than it has looked. It would be fun to back Youzhny but I can't see any way he can take three sets from Nadal. The way Nadal is playing, this seems impossible. Would anyone betting in this world right now take Youzhny? Some of the shots Nadal hit against Verdasco....man. +2200 was the future I played on Zvonareva before the Open started. Wound up cashing Clijsters future. Poor Vera. I give her credit for being a better sport after getting pounded this time in a Slam final. Back to my home base now after traveling back from Jersey today. Great vacation and I didn't miss the men's final because of the rain. Going to have to think about it now because the extra day off gives Djokovic some life although I still think Nadal is on another plane of existence right now and focused on getting the Career slam. This is heavy chalk, but lighter than taking Nadal straight up. As good as Nadal has been all tournament, I have a hard time seeing past both guys winning at least one set today. Djokovic certainly will not win in straights. Nadal COULD, but if Djokovic can take 3 from Federer who was in fantastic form, I do not see why he can't get one here from Nadal. Weather shouldn't hinder or help either guy. This is the best bet I see on the board today for the price of all the options for the final.Comment -

Nadal has to be beating himself up inside at this point. He could have crushed Djokovic in this 3rd set, but has let him stick around by not converting breaks. Djokovic though is expending a lot of mental and physical energy to stay in games on his serve now.Comment -
