calling all WTA cappers: is Davis due for a letdown today
I know Aza was injured but it was still the biggerst win of her career. I don't know much about Lepchenko but like to hear your feedbacks.

I'm kinda feeling Lepchenko. Davis played well but like you said, Azarenka was hurt. In the 2nd set Davjs couldn't hold her serve to save her life. Should be close but I kinda like Lepchenko. Might be best to just stay away.

When some player that is not something special in world of tennis prepare a surprise and win against some famous player he/she usually chokes in next round.. In WTA especially.. It is no bet for me but however, i like Varvara more .. year 2013 was not good for her but i remember Lepchenko in 2012 when she was playing solid.. It is all past but for me Varvara is just more complete player..

Hindsight obviously here ... but to me, the WTA is much less predictable with this phenomenon. Unless you beat Serena, most of the chicks are beatable any day of the week and although it's a marquee win, I don't think it's the end all, be all like a win over Serena seems to be for most. Also, you have to take into account whether the player winning actually played lights out against the marquee player who played at a high level. That is usually the best reason we like the fade here, no chance to duplicate that level and a likely drop-off in overall play level.

Davis played well, but not great yesterday. Azarenka was horrid. The foot mentally was in her thought process every point it seemed, even though I don't know that physically it really hindered her at all. So, Davis really should have been in the same mindset without worry of a drop off. Just my two cents.
