#252Hewitt was heavily over valued - did not really take an expert to see that. I am sure lots got sucked in on the home field advantage so to speak. Pretty much an every year occurrence with Hewitt at the Aussie Open. He's usually one of the most backed players. I have had a hard time finding two chalk players per day to try to parlay, so I have been skipping even thinking about it - the more you have to "look" to find a parlay filler, the worse the idea seems to be.
On top of all that - the weather is tricky as hell because no one knows how any of these players will respond, unless they have a track record.

Would not be shocked if Hewitt made a run at overturning the 0-2 and wins it. Large momentum for him after he went down 0-1 in that set and battled it out.Comment -

#262Talk to me about Nieminen-Fognini, if things go poorly for Fogs, isn't a retirement somewhat likely with the recent injury? (dunno if your book cancels)Comment -

#263Set betting is always void betting (as far as I know).
That was my point yes, but I don't give any credit to his "injury".
Edit: Oh right, this is neither my thread nor my bet. Well then... hostile takeover!!!Comment -

#264He seems to have taken the moneyline. Perhaps thats considered a subset of spread betting.
But looking at the rules on 5d/betonline (pretty sure he bets), they grade retirements after the first set on ML, but not spread. Sorry, I could have answered that myself. Jumped the gun cause I like Fogs here, will be going him on spread though.Last edited by Noleafclover; 01-14-14, 07:20 PM.Comment -

Any thoughts on Benneteau. I feel Robredo will be a bit rusty coming into this match.Comment -

#269That Robredo-Benneteau match is a toss-up. Both played five setters. Robredo is a little more consistent I think, but it's tough to tell how each will bounce back from the long first match. I would tend to think it will be a good, back & forth so I thought about the Over, but wound up passing in the end as it seemed real tough to call.Comment -

#271I have seen a lot of folks on Zheng. I don't know. Keys has a big game, but Zheng is certainly tricky. Zheng has pretty terrible form coming into this tourney though. Keys wasn't real sharp in her first rounder. Wasn't a big fan of anything particularly in this match. Would not be surprised with any result in this one though.Comment -

#275Better player on this surface. He definitely struggled in his opener and admitted that it took him three sets to adjust to the heat, but I think he's prepared for that now. Fognini had it easy with Bogomolov struggling with a shoulder problem. He's never done well here and throws in a lot of half hearted efforts on this surface. Niemo is just one of those guys I always trust to put forth the effort, whether its good enough or not is obviously always a question.Comment -
