I suppose if there were ever a time to shizzle favorites-@-shitty-odds parlays, it would be Grand Slam time.

the first round is definitely the most dangerous time to make big parlays on favorites, as it can be difficult to anticipate what kind of form the wild cards and qualifiers are in.

in general though, it isnt just because the stakes are higher in a grand slam, but because of the 5 set match that the better player tends to win in a grand slam. does anyone think federer would lose to kei nishikori in a 5 set match? this is also why you tend to get the best value on the men's side in a grand slam, since 2 set sprint upsets are still possible on the ladies' side in a grand slam.

Blindly shoving every favorite you can find at the lowest odds you can find in a huge parlay is not going to be a long term winning strategy. If you've enjoyed long term success with this strategy I am impressed though...

favorites are a good value in a 5 set match. there were a few people picking l mayer over seppi in another thread. they were right, mayer was "a good value" at +380 because he took seppi to 6-4 in the 5th set. but you dont get partial credit for finding value. you get full credit for winning the bet and no credit for losing it.
