    Venus/Isner Doubles?
Just saw this pop-up on 5Dimes

    Sat 12/29 1705 V.Williams/J.Isner -420
    11:45PM 1706 C.Scheepers/K.Anderson +300
Is this a legit mix-doubles pair, or just two americans coming together for fun?

    They don't have experience together

Won't matter. Venus has multiple grandslam titles with Serena in doubles and Isner's serve is Isner's serve, think about how crucial the serve is in doubles and then imagine Isner's bombs. Chemistry will only matter when they come up against a real tough team.

Yes it does matter... Anderson's serve is also Anderson's serve. Making a play on Isner/Venus at -400 or whatever would be the dumbest play you can make.

            Watching Venus now.

Quite even with Scheepers early. Venus looks about 10kg lighter than she did last I saw her.

I would not be betting against the Saffies in mixed doubles. They had a match yesterday to iron out any bugs.

Did i say make the play? Making the assumption I said back them at -400 was the dumbest assumption you could make.

Venus is tired after arriving in Perth yesterday. She looks good otherwise though.

But if the doubles is a dead rubber, I can see her taking it REAL easy.

How on earth did Isner tank 0-7 in the tie break after that set???

                      LOL

Didn't matter in the end, Venus has too much experience in doubles. Plus 2 big serves vs 1 big server and unless the weaker server has the hand skills of Marc Lopez, it's ba ba say bye bye.
