yeah i was against the fake English accent but she swears she can pull it off and no one can tell

i was like ok but if people start calling you out on it then you have to go to just speaking with your natural accent

Always been the state, feds, vegas and NFL fighting legaliztion the most... but now that everyone is broke the tune may have changed. States are broke or near broke with no new big sources of revenue on the horizon, taxable/regulated gaming is only option. Feds cant really help anymore and also cant begrudge a form of entertainment that is generally socially accepted the world over in one form or another and could give state governements a fighting chance to keep some of the social programs headed for the chopping block. Vegas is also in the shi##er, revenues way down but they are the national capital for established gaming brands that could give Vegas a serious jump start into any sort of national sports gaming legislation, I mean seriously... they got places dying on the vine in Vegas. All the easy readily disposable income middle Americans had to waste has disappeared because all the middle class Americans have disappeared, the party is over. No more sub prime mortgages, 20 credit credits and new Escalade every 2 years for even those that had dropped out of their first year of junior college ifthey were even motivated enough to make it that far. Other day heard a girl in Starbucks say something like Worl War II was really bad in Vietnam, spit my coffee on the floor in disbelief. I am continually surprised at the lack of any knowledge my fellow Americans do not have in general. The NFL has always had alot of juice when it came to hindering a move to legalize sports wagering in the US but they may reconsider if there is any possible way they could earn off of a national acceptance of football betting. If there was some type of royalty or payment/fee they could earn from wagering on football they might just go ahead and give it a chance taking in to account the possible giant national (or multiple state by state deal) windfall they are looking at... just a thought. Will have to see what happens... cant count on anything anymore.

Good post, until the part you wrote that the NFL will change its stance on sports betting. That will never happen. The NFL is vigorously against sports betting and they will fight it with everything they got. Like they did in Delaware. No question about it. The NFL and Vegas are huge obstacles to overcome. I was in AC yesterday and I asked some of the pit bosses their opinion. They didn't think it was going to happen and blamed Sen. Bradley. NJ had an open window federally, but it closed bc the senator at the time was a former basketball player. But AC is dying, and sports gambling has the "go" on the state level. It will be interesting. I didn't even hear the imterview btw. I read enough about it already.

Hard to say how hard the the NFL will charge after this now that poker and casino games will be regulated. It's a losing battle long term for the NFL and they have to know it. The model in the US will edge closer to the European system. This is one of those funny contradictions that has the NFL pretending not to want sports betting but knowing its both coming and will help them financially.

NCAA will fight this just as much or even more than the NFL, they managed to kill off sports betting in Oregon with the promise of a few tournament games every two years and will do the same to other states no doubt.

What a mess with all these states trying to enact their own legislation. Why dont they just follow the UK or even the Australian model. I would love to see sbrtv really get more European coverage and explain how europe regulates online gaming. Maybe some stories on how Australia deals with online gambling and grants licenses.

Just like Delaware, they will find a judge to kill it. Remember, Delaware had all the legal issues in their favor, and it still got killed. NJ has to overturn the federal ban, which will never happen. Delaware didn't have to overturn the federal ban because they were grandfathered in, and the Feds still killed it.

Why are the Feds so against it when other countries have proven it can be a successful money maker?

Never happen. We have two political parties that want to tell you how to live. The Dems know what is best for you and the bible thumping Reps know how God wants you to live.
