I was just in there and couldn't believe it. The old Palms book was very popular, now it's completely walled off and will get the generic Cantor refurb. Only positive about this that I can see is that the old Palms book was horribly smokey and Cantor books are all afaik non smoking. I have a feeling a lot of smokers will be going across the street to Gold Coast and Rio to bet their parlays now.

The "Generic Cantor Refurb" means installing the most technologically advanced, aesthetically pleasing, smoke-free sportsbook in town, and taking bets 5-100x as much as any competitor.

Nothing wrong with Cantor. They offer mobile betting.

Also, of the 6 books they will now run, only two were independent operators before Cantor took over, and neither of these were much of sportsbooks. Both subscribing to the all too familiar Vegas bookmaking strategy of "watch Pinny close, copy your futures and exotics from CRIS, and take less than anyone else. If someone catches you sleeping, deny the bet and move the line. If the patron complains, throw them out."

Only problem I can see with Cantor is them limiting your action, especially with in-game type of stuff. They have limited many.

If you just want to get down good action it is very simple with Cantor. Don't bet the max and if you want a certain game go all around town to all the various books and get down. I'm not really sure how anyone can not like Cantor unless they are purely line shopping.

The question still remains, will Cantor be around 5 years from now?

That's Cantor's business model as well.

Lee Amaitis came to London (seems like a decade ago now) shooting off his mouth about how he was going to revolutionise spread betting, how it going to was going to be a high volume low margin business, how he was going to get women spread betting... blah blah. Cantor spreads couldn't even eek out a living for themselves in the local market never mind revolutionise it. Gone home to warmer climes I see.

There is no limit, and Cantor's money derives from a company in Europe. It seems like they have an endless supply of money, with the bets they take, and the extremely expensive technology they have @ their disposal.

Local book are trying to keep up by offering live wagering on a couple of TV games occasionally. But placing a bet @ a window in between a commercial break is highly inefficient for both parties. Also non of the local book have any idea what they are doing as for as live betting goes. They watch pinny, and Cantor . It does not work, b/c they will not offer the same lines, and shade the fav and over everytime. Red Rock, and Southpoint do this so once you start to bet unders and dogs they boot you are stall to move numbers. Its a pain. I use my moblie betting app daily with Cantor, and am pleased. You will not beat their numbers, but you can always get down a bet.

Their phone app is worthless if one is rushing to get a line. For those times when one has 3 - 6 minutes to wait for it to activate properly, it's decent but unimpressive.
Most of the time it's necessary to attempt to login about 5 times or more before it recognizes.

Very poor job, and I imagine it was designed by people who don't sportsbet .

Not even close. Cantor's business model is "Take more action $, hold less profit %". Weather it works out is still yet to be seen.

Unless you're chasing steam, everything at Cantor is -EV in major markets if Pinnacle is your market price.
