    Honestly, if you wanted to bet the stock indexes, just open up a brokerage account and starting trading options on symbols, DIA, QQQ or SPY.

          Futures trading with any brokerage would provide you this action very easily. Your margins would vary by contract but the Dow is $5,000 per contract and you earn $5 for every point in either direction. So if you like the Dow to go down you would short it and if it finished down 100 points that would net you $500. If you liked it to go up and the Dow gained 100 points that would mean $500 in your pocket as well. Sure you can't bet $500 on the Dow to go up and win $500. You have to have margin but it makes investment market betting very easy. There is also plenty of liquidity unlike BetFair's market betting options.

                  If you are in the US then you pay either way (unless you are trying to hide your sportsbetting).
