Short answer: Obviously not.
Long answer: Shortly before Christmas I attempted to make an instant deposit deposit on Matchbook's site. I typed in the wrong amount and a glitch arose so that I wasn't able to use that method until it was fixed.
Ok. Nothing happened over Christmas weekend which was understandable, I guess. For about a week after that Matchbook was trying to fix the glitch. Finally, I was told by email that they were sure the problem would be fixed "tomorrow". No email the next day. I contacted them. Glitch still not solved.
Told to send my banking information by email and they would take care of it. Did that and was told it would take about two weeks. (Why so long? But OK.) That was January 4. Today, I emailed Matchbook and was told the attempt to transfer funds from my checking account failed. (Why did I have to email them first for Matchbook to tell me this?)
It failed because they used the wrong name that was at the top of my emails. I had legally changed my name about a decade ago and had simply not changed it on my yahoo email account. My correct legal name is on record with Matchbook, I signed all my emails with my correct legal name. I've never had a problem with any other sports book because of this. Why didn't someone contact me from Matchbook if they were concerned by this apparent discrepency?
So, a month after attempting to give Matchbook my money nothing has been accomplished. They did want me to try again! I don't believe I will.
I can understand those people that say that this sort of "service" should be tolerated because the lines are good. But this experience doesn't really fill me with confidence that Matchbook knows what it is doing. Is this any way to run a sportsbook?
