    Online Books and Password Security
    Carrying on from this thread

    1) Is there a definitive list of which books are like this and require both password disclosure whenever querying anything about one's account and have the password stored unencrypted for CS to be able to see at anytime ?

    2) Would anyone from SBR care to explain just HOW any book with absolutely zero real security like this could be A+ rated ? How can this NOT be an instant 'ding' for a ratings level ?!?

I know Pinny doesn't, I know Greek doesn't, and I know no Asian or European book does ...

Frankly, am absolutely gobsmacked that this is considered acceptable behavior both by you guys and by SBR

I rarely ever have occasion to contact books live and to the best of my knowledge none that I use ask for my password.
I simply wouldn't give it over live chat. And I'd think very seriously about closing my account at any book which asked for it.

Yep - I'll never consider even opening an account with anyplace that does this, plain and simple, regardless of SBR rating them A or A+ or whatever. To me nobody could be even A- rated if they do this ...

Why they dont do same as Bet365 does. They give you your security number containing 4 numbers and when you join the chat you give them number and you pass security check.

Why not just "log in" to chat and poof, you are authenticated.

I really think it would be great if SBR could address this issue. If the bookmakers has such incredibly bad understanding of online security as this is a proof of I think SBR could make a change. That´s very hard for individual customers to do.

SBR, what´s your opinion on this matter? Do you think PW should be in the hands of every CS employee and also shared in online chats?

DSI/Bookmaker and others can't help you if you don't give your username and password. They need to login into your account. Not safe at all. As I said in an earlier thread some former/fired employees could sell, use that info. Some clever guy could intercept the data transmitted. Or their computers could be compromised (keylogger, etc)

Betcris asks your security question, but if the answer to that question allows you to change your password its not very safe either.

+ Many US books only allow a 10 characters in a password (numbers and letters only). This should be much higher and special characters allowed

yep ... strikes me that nearly all of the supposedly brilliant Central American books are a complete joke with account security due to this

surprised at the abject lack of anyone from SBR commenting so far ...

Yeah, most of my books ask me for my password as well, even when asking simple, generic type questions..
