I'm reviewing a dispute, and a book is voiding wagers on this match claiming it was fixed.
Anyone know about this?

Nothing yet in the soccer world about this. - But this is Albanian league soccer, that normally attracts extremely limited betting interest or news and any punter seeking much action there would very soon find his account restricted .

It's way too far down the slippery slope if books are allowed to avoid bets because of a suspected fix. What about games where a draw benefits both teams? I've seen Italian Serie A games (there were several discussed here last year) where the draw odds drop from +200 to the draw being favored, and in past years I've seen the draw as heavily favored as -250. And that's one of the largest leagues in the world, let alone Albanian soccer.

the claim bets can be voided because a match is supposedly fixed is absurd. many many soccer games are suspected to be fixed in leagues around (eastern) europe every single year because of very suspicious betting patterns, and only a few are ever investigated. on top of this, only a fraction of these investigations ever leads to some sort of proof and sanctions by a governing body.
unless there's a full-blown uefa investigation which finds the game was indeed fixed (and these investigations take many months, if not years), books have no business voiding bets because they themselves believe it is "fixed", simply because they didn't like the betting patterns associated with the particular match.
any book brave enough to offer something obscure and dodgy as albanian soccer in the first place shouldn't start whining when they have to payout on a result every single bettor seemed to be betting on. if you don't trust it, don't offer it. i really hope sbr condemns these kind of arguments of books in the strongest possible ways.

I don't get how books can just throw out the "fix" argument just cause they clearly got beat by one side. There's literally THOUSANDS of fixed matches across the world everyday in soccer.... I'm sure they benefit from some of them just as much as the player does.

I'm from Albania, and i'ts true: the match in question was fixed. the first half to be won by the away team and then home team to win the whole match

Is this an 'irregular betting patterns' case?

Book offered odds, book should pay
Any book that offers high limits on this type of game have only themself to blame when it goes wrong.
