I was booking bets for a friend $25 to $50 per game, got tired of taking them for him and suggested he set up offshore account. I told him Bookmaker or DSI is probably best option and he pursues this on own.
The other day he is asking me about deposit methods because they won't give him a bonus on moneybookers and all he has is MasterCards which apparently they don't take and his only options were ** and ** which he doesn't want to do. I tell them this is easy can be done online and just make sure to ask the site how much he needs to send for them to cover fee. So when he contacts them today this is the exactly the first thing he wants to know how much to send so they cover fee.
He's Canadian his account is Canadian dollars, and he's told by support send in $300 and they'll cover fee.
He send $300+$18 fee. After giving info a couple hours later, they send him an email $296 US was credit to his account. He's confused by the US mention and the amount because he had thought everything was in Canadian. logs into his account sees $292 Canadian.
At this point this is when he MSNs me asking what's up. I've now had him on MSN for what has to be 2 hours. I'm doing other things so its fine but its amazing how long its taking for them to sort this out.
Having been on hold with support for hours being told they were working on it, finally they conclude: $300 Canadian is $296 US so he is not eligible for them covering fees because his deposit was $4 short. Who would not send $4 more to get $26 in return? He's been trying to argue this point with support now for a while and getting no where on it. He's a poker player so familiar a little online gambling, but really has never bet offshore (I don't think anyways) and was just following instructions they gave him which was to send $300. He's Canadian his account is Canadian Dollars he gave his account ID# when inquiring about deposit, just wanted to use his credit card initially.. so why is this now his fault. And why are they incapable of giving him benefit of doubt and just covering his fee.
The support chat he's copy and pasted to me is LOL awful too. Its like 10 minutes between each response, they ask same things over and over, and then tell him sorry he is ineligible.
Edit: As I am typing this is where it was left off.
CS Marvin: In this moment we are concerned about some issued we found with your transaction. We are sorry but we must ask you to contact back in 6 or 7 hours so our financial department can find out why your deposit was converted to US dollars and why it used a different exchange rate.
DSI is a highly rated book featured on SBR so had they just said that 2 hours ago, okay fine check back in morning no big deal and hope it gets worked out then. Seriously they just wasted 2 hours of his time with hold on my supervisor is working on this, no we can't help you, etc etc. Anyways hopefully it gets fixed tomorrow but can't understand why this is such a major issue.
