    Bet1128 - what a joke!

On Monday I opened an account and deposited with this book in order to avail of some reasonably artractive soccer odds.

I placed a single bet on a Monday match at 0 handicap and the match was drawn.

Then before betting on Tuesday I checked my account to find that no refund had been credited. After a long chat session they admitted a glitch and that all should be fixed within an hour.

I proceeded to place several bets and most of them won.

But checking my account before today's betting I find no dividends have been credited.

Again I call on Live Chat to ask WTF and am advised that bets are normally settled after 24 hours!!!

I told him that is totally unacceptable, no other book in my experience is so slack and that I don't have enough in my account to cover my bets for today. Fix it quick or I'm getting out for good.

    And other oddity:

On selecting a bet the slip shows a maximum stake. On entering that amount, say $500 at say odds of 1.90, it then pops up a message saying "the system suggests a bet of $500 at 1.856" !!!

    WTF???

Anyone else have experience dealing with these clowns?
Is all this just a temporary glitch or are they always like this?

Yup, this is one of their legendary tricks. It was just like this a couple of years ago when i used to bet at them. Never bet close to the max at them, if you decide to continue there. But I would suggest to stay away..

    These guys are incredible

I've had accounts with at least 60 online bookies in my time but never have I had one which takes so long to settle bets!

And they are trying to tell me this is "standard industry practice"!!

It is now Tuesday and still they haven't settled soccer bets from Sunday!!

Does anyone know of any other bookies adopting such a "standard industry practice"?

They must be the industry leader in this area Maybe they want ppl to keep large balances and slow-settling the bets will help in this, at least it made me keeping a larger balance than usual, or maybe italians are just lazy

Well I was initially attracted by their good odds on Asian handicaps and I find they do let me on for more than 12Bet and M88.
I got an okay report on their reputation before opening an account.
My only concern with them so far is their tardiness in settling bets, although at first I did experience a software malfunction which appears to have been resolved.
What is your reason for labelling them a scam site and what cheating are you referring to?

07 January 2008-Bet1128 settles winning bet after six months
Bet1128 finally settles as a winner a tennis bet on the ATP Gstaad tournament played on July 2007, which had been originally voided after the event.
22 February 2008-information from a former employee of Bet1128 that the UK-based Italian-owned bookmaker dismissed 7 employees and had 5 resignations all in the last 2 months.
20 September 2008-Bet1128 confiscates over 36,000 euros in winnings from player accused of being part of an organized group of punters.
Looking at the player's betting history, he appears to be guilty only to have placed a series of winning multiples on boxing matches who had been available as picks on a betting forum.Another player reported to BMR that a Moneybookers deposit was never credited to his account. The player, who made the deposit at the end of July, has showed BMR e-mails where Bet1128 claims Moneybookers blocked the player account for suspicious activity, while on another e-mail Moneybookers clearly says the player account is active.
03 October 2008-a second complaint from a player who had over 20,000 euros in winning bets confiscated from Bet1128 after he was accused of being part of a group of punters.
15 July 2009-IBAS adjudicates Bet1128 case in favour of players - UPDATES
After a full panel meeting the Independent Betting Adjudication Service ruled in favour of the players who had their Olympic boxing bets voided by Bet1128 on claims that being the same tips available on a betting forum the players were involved in syndicate betting.
According to IBAS, Bet1128 has been unable to establish any links between the players other than the fact that they placed the same bets, which IBAS defined "not particularly complicated".
IBAS also said that Bet1128 should have managed the risk in a similar way to major UK bookmakers who stopped the betting on Olympic boxing after it became evident that the non-seeded draws had advantaged some boxers to reach the semi-finals.

UPDATE 22-05-2009: The player received an e-mail from the payment manager confirming that Bet1128 was going to fully honour the IBAS ruling and pay the winnings.
The player agreed to be paid by installments of 5000 euros per week starting on May 25.

UPDATE 25-05-2009: The 1st tranche of payment was paid today as planned.

UPDATE 25-06-2009: Ther player says Bet1128 continues to pay the installments as promised.

UPDATE 15-07-2009: Player received the final installment from Bet1128. The balance that was confiscated in September 2008 has now been paid in full.

    thanks for all that
one could probably find similar stuff on most books i suspect
I dunno about the rest but the very first line is dead wrong - the only reason I was attracted to them in the first place was the fact that they do offer better odds than the other other Asian books on lots of events every day. I bet where I can get the best odds and I've had plenty of activity at 1128 in just two weeks of being with them.
but I certainly will be careful not to let my balance get too high there - problem is that with their slow settlements one does need to maintain a higher balance than one should have to to cover the next day's betting

indeed but that is only SBR's rating

my source whom I trust gives them the green light on that score

I've just put them to the test by requesting a withdrawal equivalent to my initial deposit. Let's see how that goes.

1128 often cancels lines of favorites. But they don't cancel high lines like

    - Frankfurt - Bayern correct score 2:1 at 40

    - Sevilla - ZSKA correct score 1:2 at 35

Both bets won. The money was in my account within 1 hour and is on my Moneybookers account now - within 3 hours/3 days

if you bet favorites, be careful.

1128 are the remnants of Paradisebet they have all sorts of trouble for some time,if you must play there stick with Asian 1128(and you might as well use other Asian books)not the sportsbook it's run by Italians which is all you need to know.

    OK .. Update time
My withdrawal request for $2,500 was denied
But that was only because I hadn't yet been verified so I had to submit a couple of ID documents and passed that test
So, having won a bit more in the interim requested a $4k payout on Sunday
It was in my Moneybookers account within 24hrs

I still have funds in there (all profits) and intend to keep playing there as long as they don't impose stupid limits or do something else which supports claims that they are as bad as you say.

My only issues with them are tardiness in settling bets and attempts to sell bets at lower odds than they are quoting. But now that I'm alert to that I won't be caught out again.

To me, one of the key factor to verify if a book can be trustable or not, despite the fact that for sure the feedbacks that came reported on the internet are important even more if they go on the same (bad) direction, is how fast they are to move their lines. Why a scam book should be as fast as possible to move their lines following the direction of the market?
As far as I know, for the asian handicaps they use the lines of 12Bet/Ibcbet, while, about 1X2 and correlated bets, they are always fast to correctly update their lines.
This is a sign, to me, that they are OK.

    Greetings.

    Further update:

For some unknown reason over the past two to three weeks they haven't been offering odds in the markets which attracted me to them in the first place and which I played successfully up until then.

Accordingly I requested a withdrawal of my balance (>4k) which was promptly deposited into my Moneybookers account.

So, whilst they appear to have their quirks, they certainly don't deserve all the "scam book" criticism imho.

I'll be watching for a re-emergence of them with good odds in the markets I play and won't hesitate to deposit and play again.

I never had problems with 1128 using it since 2008. The last 30 days I had 3 withdrawals. First withdrawal took one week including verification because of one year break. Second and third withdrawals needed less than 1 day. Amount: 2000

always great lines and no refused bets any more like 2008.

yep, withdrawals were never my concern
