    Questionable behaviour from 18bet

    Hi all,

I recently had a very unpleasant experience w/ 18bet and I'd like to get some opinions on that.
I've deposited 250 EUR with them just before CoVid-19 outbreak.
As a consequence, basically all sport events I usually bet on have been canceled and I just wanted to withdraw my money again (no bets made, no transactions, no bonus claims, no nothing) - just due to the lack of any betting opportunities. Remark: I also deposited with 2 other bookmakers within that timeframe and a withdrawl was absolutely no problem whatsoever.
18bet, however, rejected my withdrawl, citing their T&C, that a minimum roll-over of five (!) times of any deposited amount is required before a withdrawl is possible and that I may browse their site for other bets; which I did for a few days (really tried to find anything bettable).
So far, so good, but due to the fact that I just have nothing to bet on (besides second tasmanian womens volleyball league or thelike), I kindly asked them to grant an exemption giving these special circumstances. They refused again.

In reply, I also cited their T&C which state that "[...] Shark77 Limited reserves the right to charge withdrawals with fees to cover administrative costs, in case the deposit amount is not rolled over at least 5 times."
Ok, thought it might cost me a bit, but at least I get my money back. I still consider a minimum roll-over of five times ridiculously high, but ok, my bad that I deposited with them.

I explicitly asked them to give me a number of how high they'd consider these "special fees" to be.
However, they did not reply to that, now they just told me that "bank transfer" would not be available as a method for withdrawls and I should opt for another withdrawl method.
I opened a Skrill account and initiated another withdrawl request.
They rejected it again, telling me that I'd have to provide copies of my Skrill details, ID card and prove of address first.
I did provide all the docuements requested.
Next withdrawl request was rejected again, citing (on my question why) their T&C and the roll-over requirement again.
Once more, I tried to point to a) the exceptional circumstances around Covid-19 and b) their own T&C, which say that they reserve the right to charge additional fees on money which has not been wagered 5 times. And that I explicitly want to make use of that if they are not fair enough to grant an exception.

Rejected again, minimum roll-over requirement. And still no word of why their own (!) terms phrase the possibility of charging a fee on money not rolled over 5 times, if they do not make use of it even know in times of corona - when else?! And again, I didn’t place any bets, I don’t claim any winnings, bonuses or thelike - I just want the money back that I sent them.

Next thing will probably be that they will charge me fees for "inactivity"...
On the pro side: their support was quite responsive, but that still does not get me my money back.

Any suggestions from your side on what to do now? Opinions?

    Any feedback highly appreciated.

    Many thanks!
    Best
    Anger

I had the same issue and completed the rollover with Blackjack. Playing the optimal strategy, the EV is -.5% of the total turnover.

Not a fan of 18bet, but you're probably going to have do that 5x rollover , or roll the dice on how much "admin fee" they take. If you have bet nothing it will probably be large. If you have completed half the rollover it will probably be less, which is why they don't quote a set amount.

I bleed with you, brother. 5 times roll on a no bonus deposit is ridiculous. It's usually just one times.

Like seemingly everyone else on this thread, I've had a bad experience with 18bet. They're just not the kind of book that's gonna do anybody a favor.

So unfortunately, I suspect your only options are the Tasmanian women's volleyball route or just waiting it out.

You mean Israeli? Why is it important which religion he belongs to? How do you even know he is a Jew?

    Please stop posting anti-semitic BS.

If he knows that guy's first and last name, it is not difficult to guess that guy is Israeli looking at such first and last name

There is just no need to mention he is a Jew, if he even is.

What difference does it makes? if someone is a jew or whatever religion, then there should be no problem admitting that.

We know why he mentions it. And it says more about CIS and craftbrewer than anyone or anything else anyway.

This is a sportsbook thread. Let's stick to that.

Hey all, many thanks for all the replys, at least I am not the only one having issues with them.

So seems I have to decide between:

    1) Waiting for the sports world to ramp up again,
    2) Roll the dice on the "admin fee" or
    3) Play it out via a minimum exp. loss strategy

Guess I have to think about, but as I am not really willing (and fortunately not forced to) accepted some random hair-cuts on my deposit (esp. without having concrete numbers beforehand), it will probably be 1) or 3).

Will let u know afterwards, maybe it can serve as kind of a best practice for others experiencing the same.

Thanks again to all of you!

    Cheers
