Sent a BTC deposit to an old address at SportsBetting

A couple of weeks ago I accidentally sent a BTC deposit to an old address at SportsBetting.ag (same company as BetOnline) based in Panama, to an account I had closed a year earlier. In their terms they state you should only use each deposit address only once, sure, but they should still have access to this address (the addresses don't expire) if they keep the private keys and I'm sure this has happened quite a bit before. I can see the transaction on blockchain explorer

I've reached out to their support a number of times and they are not helpful at all, not really understanding the issue and saying reach out to my wallet provider (obviously this is useless). They say the payment processor doesn't have access. They won't disclose the payment processor that currently has these funds. So basically do you have any suggestions, does anyone know the BTC payment provider in Panama or know how I can escalate this or make some progress? Happy to send 0.1BTC to anyone that can actively help me track this down and result in returning these funds

    Thanks a lot

Problem is that they might've changed the BTC provider/exchange/wallet and because of that they don't have access to it. Also, you can't "accidentally" send funds to someone, you didn't investigate prior to the deposit so all you can hope for is to be super-polite and down to earth, explain the situation to them into detail and hope that you come across fair CS agent that might be of service to you.

I'm not sure anything can be done if they really don't have access to the old wallet anymore. But if you send in a sportsbook complaint form with your details we can at least ask a manager to double check what the situation is for you.

Thanks for the insights, does anyone know who the payment processor is behind BetOnline & SportsBetting? (and I'm guessing quite a few more of the Panama based sports companies...)

You're not a customer of theirs. I'd think the chances of the processor assisting some random Joe Blow are about 0.000001%. I think you're going to need a cooperative BOL manager to help mediate, unfortunately.

Sorry to say it's probably lost......a similar thing happened to a betting buddy the end of last football season and he had more info than you do currently and had NO luck. No one seems to care when these kind of mistakes happen with Bitcoin.

How much was the deposit? Over 0.1 BTC?
