1bet has closed my account due to "inactivity" and have kept my funds wtf????

I have never in my life come across this happening to me before.

I had 3000 AUD in the 1bet account and have been using it on and off for years. I've also requested withdrawals several times only to say I need to rollover my deposit a little more.

Your current rollover is 2 814 AUD (3.7 times your deposits). Currently your withdrawal could be processed with 6 % fees. If you would like to withdraw the money from your account with no fees attached, your rollover needs to reach the amount of 3 750 AUD.

Please inform us of your decision by replying to this e-mail.

    Kind regards,

    1Bet Payments Team

counSo naturally I didn't want to pay the 6% fee and wait for something good to take so that I meet the rollover.

I tried to log in the other day only to say it has been blocked and after I sent an email they said it had been closed due to inactivity and all funds have been forfeited to them?

This is the most unethical shit I have EVER seen in my entire life I thought they were pretty reputable but to just go and keep a customers money on those grounds???

This is ridiculous I have done nothing wrong they can't just keep my money surely?

    How long was it inactive?

You are welcome to fill in a complaint form and see if SBR can help. http://www.sportsbookreview.com/sportsbook-complaint/

    Oh my. What an awful rule this is;

3.16. The customer holds the responsibility of actively maintaining their own account. Should an account be inactive for 6 months consecutively or longer, 1BET reserves all rights to terminate the customer's account and therefore; all outstanding balances are forfeited.
No proper regulator would allow that to fly. But this is Curacao of course.

Yeah I'm aware of that in the t&c's. I've tried to withdraw but they I didn't want to pay the 6% and it's not my fault they didn't have any good markets or things to bet on?

I joined in early 2012 and I can't believe they have done this...

Filled out the complaint form. I hope this can be resolved
3000 is a hell of a lot to me and took years to build it up to that.
I can't get over that I haven't even done anything wrong!

I requested a withdrawal in late april but was knocked back for rollover reasons and was given the option of withdrawing but with a 6% charge so I left it. Thinking I'll bet on something in the future as there was no rush for me to withdraw the funds.

I've since logged in several times not sure of the last log in date as I can't check right now but no bookie should be allowed to simply take your funds cos you have just left them in there?

    Dear xxxx,

Please refer to our general Terms and Conditions, point 3.16. " The customer holds the responsibility of actively maintaining their own account. This, as well as all the information related to 1bet and its company policy is displayed for all customers and site visitors to see and get familiar with. Furthermore, we would like to bring to your attention the fact it is the customers' responsibility to always keep themselves updated with the above-mentioned, it is 1bet's responsibility to keep this information clear and full as it has been since the launching of the site.

Please note that the customer holds all responsibilities to periodically check and update themselves with the terms and conditions. What is more, note that you have agreed to them upon your registration.

Well April is only just 6 months ago. If you are certain you have logged in since then it gives an extra angle to argue at least.

No, they should not act like this. But they obviously plan to and there is no active regulator to stop them.

I have emailed curacao-egaming with my complaint.
I have email exchanges between 1 bet and I all datestamped. May to October is 6months and I also know I have tried to log in between then so if they want to use the T&c's defense I can go down that route too.
I pretty much think it's just plain unethical and wrong to have such a condition even exist. Is it worth the bad publicity to keep the 3000 I wonder to them?

Admittedly I've just quickly scanned their rules but I would take the view of it's not defined what "actively maintaining" your account entails as I didn't see anything that said you had to place a bet in those 6 months. Of course that's dependent on you actually logging in during that time! When you say you've tried to log in - does that mean you didn't actually get to log in? Just not understanding the try part of your statement.

But yes, they can keep your $ and Curacao "regulators" won't do a thing to help you. Because it's in their rules and regs whether we think it's unethical or not, the policy is there so you agree to abide by it when you sign up. It's shithouse but fingers crossed they relent a bit after SBR talks to them.

I have definitely logged in from May until now as I've tried to withdraw several times. Even if I haven't May to now is about 6 months anyway so I am quite shocked about this
    Thank you for your help.

Is there any rule saying what does it mean an "active account". I am afraid that just login is not enough, most of the times bookies will want you to place bets. IE some bookies if you don't place a bet for a 6 months or so will deduct 5 or 10 USD from your balance every month until your account becomes active again.

If you don't get paid it should go to an automatic F rating

I understand some bookies do that but this is so extreme it's ridiculous I'd happily pay the 5-10USD not 3000AUD along with closure of the account. I'm being treated like I'm a criminal or have done something wrong to them!

I am totally with you on this. I just wanted to point out that a simple login will not make your account active, you need to place bets. It is a joke bookie if they have such an unfair rules. SBR should react to this kind of bookies with totally unfair policy against their users.

Why would you have 3k in a book and not be playing with it , even if you just have it for hedging or arbing , you would think you would place a bet every month

Sorry to say, kiss the money goodbye. The rule is there for a reason- to steal your cash! What reasonable book would dare to list a rule like this? Most would not even bother to sign up in a place like that for fear that if they have a rule like this, what else is up their sleave?

Thinking more about this....if you were a football better, and only bet football (like me)- and your last bet is the Superbowl around Feb 2nd, then if you didn't bet again til the next season, the money would be gone. I bet they get a nice piece of change at the start of each football season!

Many books have dormant account rules, even the biggest legit ones. Never seen another book post something as unreasonable as this rule though.

Don't recall the full details but there was thread dealing with it a year or so ago.
Basically a dormant account can be hit with a 5% charge every month until it is all gone.

Do you know what happens if you only have $5 or $50 in account? Do they actually deduct 5% of $5 and 5% of the updated smaller amount next month after this rule is invoked? What happens if your balance is zero and you don't log on for a year, can they make your account balance negative for this reason and make you pay up to zero balance before accepting any wagers on the account?

    5. Dormant Accounts

5.1 As of 1st August 2014 bet365 will apply an Administration Fee to all accounts that have been ‘inactive’ for a consecutive period of at least 365 days in accordance with the following procedure. An account is deemed to be ‘inactive’ during any period in which none of the following actions take place in relation to it: (i) a successful deposit; or (ii) a sports bet is placed.

    (a) If your account remains ‘inactive’ for a continuous period of 365 days then your account shall be deemed to be ‘dormant’ and, if the balance on your account is zero, your account will be closed and no fee shall apply.

    (b) If, on being deemed to be dormant, your account has a positive balance, bet365 shall take reasonable steps to notify you using the details you provided during your registration process (or as updated by you).

    (c) If your account remains dormant, after a minimum period of 28 days following bet365’s first attempt to notify you that your account has become dormant, bet365 shall deduct a monthly Administration Fee from your account balance of £2 (or currency equivalent), or 5% of your account balance at the time that it is deemed to be dormant (whichever is greater).

    (d) The Administration Fee calculated in accordance with (c) above shall be deducted from your account balance on the expiry of the 28 day notification period mentioned above and every 28 days thereafter at the same rate until the earlier of: (i) your account balance reaching zero when no further Administration Fee shall be deducted and your account will be closed; or (ii) you ‘reactivating’ your account when no further Administration Fee shall be deducted.
