    BetOnline pernicious parlay grading
Recently Betonline.ag cancelled the IND/MIA O/U line due to a palpable error. I understand this is common and fully accept that. However, the way Betonline has handled grading of parlays is inconsistent, and guarantees I lose money no matter how I had bet.

Parlays that initially won were cancelled in their entirety. The winning leg did not pay out. Parlays that initially lost were still graded as losses. In other words, Betonline cancelled a leg due to a palpable error (fairly), but kept all money from losses, and did not pay out any money from other winning legs in those parlays. An example of each here: [https://imgur.com/a/cVJSkH0](https://imgur.com/a/cVJSkH0)

I was told the decision by Betonline was final, and that I have no further potential for recourse. They "apologize for the inconvinience." I lost about $500 just due to this inconsistent grading. I believe they either need to cancel all parlays, or grade all parlays based on the non-cancelled leg. The mixed grading practice is illogical, and egregiously benefits them

I know that Betonline is graded an A+ bookie and have heard good things, so this seems like either a genuine oversight on their end, or thinly-veiled theft.

When you take shots at bad lines, expect for the book to free roll you, which they did. Lesson learned.

There are a lot of things that go on that are not actions of A+ books but it is SBR’s rating system so take it for what it’s worth.

Yeah I’m pretty new to online sports betting, so didn’t know the etiquette was if I bet on a bad line posted by the book, they’re entitled to steal from me. Good to know...

Offshore books are given (or take) great latitude in handling obvious errors however they want. However, this is over the line - they need to handle them consistently. They cannot void your wins and keep your losses on the same event. This should be fixed IMO.

At the same time, take this as a learning opportunity, as you admit that you are new to betting. Betting on bad lines at offshore books is high risk business and generally not worth it.

If you would take the time to read through the hundreds of threads on this exact topic you will understand that the A+ books will eventually fix it if you get SBR involved , they just want it to be a huge pain in the ass for taking a shot. My mindset is if a book posts a bad number and books the bet then they should pay the bet. They can close your account afterwards but that is not how it works. Like don’ttailme said, the books have great latitude in their decisions, sometimes you have to get SBR involved to keep them in check. For every New poster that creates a thread like this there are at least ten that do not bother so in the end it is very profitable for the books.

They treat it like, hey this guy tried to steal from us, so open season on him too.

Normally they won't do that to you for just one bad line bet.

But if you have a pattern of targeting errors it's quite likely to eventually happen.

If it is someone knowingly taking shots, SBR wont advocate for them. Just ask the book about it at most.

BetOnline has gone downhill in recent years and I have seen lower ratings on other review sites for them.

Yeah I mean as someone very new to this it’s clear to me that these bookies don’t play by the same rules as the rest of society does. No legitimate company could or would ever do anything like this. Lesson learned...
