    Funny story about Stake.com
So their lines suck but they have some nice small bettor promos, crypto only book.

Went to withdrawal $700 in Ethereum yesterday and my account got flagged for suspicious log ins. Typically instant withdrawals. They don’t allow US and I had been using Hong Kong VPNs. They asked me to prove my public IP...which would have screwed me.

Luckily, after a small freak out begging them (more of my sanity thinking they were about to forfeit my balance) they said just send us a photo of the wallet you sent from, confirming you made the deposits.

    Close one.

Why would you use Hong Kong based IP addresses through your VPN? Try using a Canadian location or European and likely avoid this problem in the future.

Heh, I've been tempted to do the same thing many times myself.

But what do you do for an address in the VPN jurisdiction where you don't actually have one?

If you try to do that, most people will get themselves caught out. It's just the same but reverse of what OP said. But in that case they could insist you connect from a non-VPN local IP even if you had local address docs.

OP was not doing that or supplying a fake address btw. Stake does not ask for an address when you signup but says USA banned. Some posters have been saying that is not a real rule/ban and they just want you to use a VPN so they cannot see for sure they are allowing Americans. I guess they think this will trick authorities, or keep a supplier happy maybe.

The OPs experience sounds like it supports that theory.

But personally, I'd not risk it if I was planning to win any decent amount.

It sounds like you are gambling against the gods and Stake as well, not really knowing if you'd be able to withdraw in the event you won.
I have this same opinion with Nitrogen, which is why I refuse to deposit there after the unnecessary and undeserved stress they put me through. You can check my post history if you want to look into it more.

My point = only play at a bitcoin sportsbook that wont put you through distress to get whats rightfully yours.

Nitrogen is probably the safest bitcoin book there is. Did they ever not pay you? I doubt it.

                  Your story:
"Nitrogen has really gone to the toilet. I had the same problem with them.
I deposited about $900 and bet it on -300 favorite.
After it won, I had $1200 and Nitrogen froze my withdraw.
I can understand a 1x rollover if you dont bet, but why cant i bet my money and withdraw after?
Thats not money laundering thats called being shady."

Unfortunately, lots of books are doing this these days (more are converting to applying bonus rollover rules to 1x deposit playthrough every day). I don't agree with the policy, as they're doing it not for AML purposes, but instead to generate more action per dollar deposited, bu tit is slowly becoming industry standard, at least for non-A rated US offshores.

I think it's important to highlight this because your post saying "not really knowing if you'd be able to withdraw in the event you won" might mean something else entirely to some people (it did to me).

I'm not sure either. Apparently people like to gamble whether or not they will get paid by playing at books that don't accept U.S customers. Very strange.

I had not heard of Stake.com prior to this thread. There's no rating for them here at SBR. But based on the comments here I get the feeling they are solid (assuming you are not USA). What is the general consensus?
