    Sports Gambling Strides In U.S
So earlier this year supreme court rulings opened up more opportunities for sports gambling in the United States, that has been discussed here previously in some threads I have seen.

Well something I haven't been seeing with much discussion is the fact that Mississippi began allowing sports bets yesterday. I think this is a huge step for sports betting because there aren't many states where sports gambling has been legalized and started taking bets.

This is going to be a great time I think for U.S based companies to begin pushing for legalization in more states and also begin starting U.S based sportsbooks.

Of course we have all been gambling with various sportsbooks online, many of us for years. However now in the future you may be able to walk down the street and see a couple shops offering sports vetting like you do in England. (A little back story: I lived in England for 3 years and enjoyed being able to go to high street and pop in a couple places and make some bets... Also another thing common/popular in England is matched betting, I saw people earning good profit through matched betting in England because of the casino's offering free bets for depositing.)

I know that gambling can lead to addiction and then cause some people to suffer but for casual gamblers or people who aren't throwing down huge money this is a good hobby to profit a little bit sometimes or at the very least something they can have better odds at. Let's face it the lotto and scratch cards and stuff like that is a money pit, most people don't win much from those and the odds on those are worse than your typical sports bet.

Daily fantasy sports websites are in the process with more states as well to get their form of online gambling legalized in more states.

Anyways all that being said what are your thoughts? How long do you think until we begin to see this trend spread to more states?

It is projected that 25 states will be offering sports gambling in the next 5 years. That is just the states that have indicated an interest and taken steps.

The amazing thing about all of this is that the casinos have made zero attempt to get a state to allow sports gambling. The states have rushed to do it. So it is likely to spread to most of the US much faster than people expect. The only question is how well it gets implemented.

Never will be like England or Las Vegas

Its will be a generic product and great for small recreational types or people that have no interest in winning

If you want to win or at least have way better shot it is offshore only

        for now it sucks, yes

but who knows... at some point down the road a disruptor or someone like google/facebook/amazon could open up a matchbook-type shop

no risk on their part if it's peer-peer betting, and customers will eventually be laying -101 instead of -110
