Industry Standard to share your password everywhere
Why or How has it become industry standard to tell every support person in the off-shore industry your full username and password? Even if you have a simple usability question you still need to give them your full login credentials. How is this viable or even relatively smart? Does this bother anyone else or make sense to others? It's even more funny when they ask you to type it in their random form before and then ask you for it again. It gets worse when this information isn't sent over HTTPS, but that's another story.

Why do we tolerate this crazy behavior?

Yea it does bother me but i guess they are gonna say their shop their rules if we dont like it play elsewhere. I never understood when 5d did this at all.

It's a question that comes up now and again and a good one. The answer is with certain software platforms it's the easiest built-in way for shops to make sure the account-holder is the one asking the questions, but there probably will come a time when two-factor authentication is used for more than just payouts and then there probably will be less of a need to do this.

Certainly not "industry standard" in my experience.
I'd refuse to give that info to CS.

If they are asking for your password to verify its you on the phone, then they must be able to see the password on their screen anyway, so changing it wont help in any way?

Excited for that time to come. I'm amazed there isn't more rampant stealing of funds with minimum wage people doing support.

The CS agent generally cant see anything. They need the pw to login and verifiy it is correct and also access your basic account records.
