It is a weekly contest that you could join. You have to pick a certain amount of games against the spread and totals. Say 24 on average. If your 24 pick are better than the "bookies" picks you earn a share of 5k in weekly freeplays. So if 100 people beat the bookie you'll get a 100 fp. If you are the only person to beat the bookie, you win a 5k fp. I think you need to bet $500 during the week to qualify.

I hope it's not 500 dollars wagered per week to qualify

could be $250, $500 or more. Thats how its been over the past lonnnnngggggg time. Do you say you hope not as in you won't bet that much during the week or everyone and their mother will play? Oh and to qualify for the big playoff pool you have to play each and every week. That would mean playing $500 or whatever the rules state, every week.

That's a lot for a freeplay. 500 real money every week for a possible freeplay? The bookies win every week

Don't be misled by the title, beat the bookie. It is just someone picking their 24 picks. I can't say they are sharp. I think only one time did they beat everyone in a week. You are over thinking this, Sea. As Mike said read the rules, when it comes out. Then you could make a decision if you want to commit $500 or so each week during football to qualify for playoffs. When I play in it I just choose 24 random picks. Maybe I win 30-45% of the weeks.

Does anyone have a link for beat the bookie last year? I can't get wagerweb to send me any information on the contest and I need to know its inner most details before I set aside money for some other contest. Thanks.

Guy, just ask them how much needs to be played on a weekly basis to qualify. Then times that for each week until the superbowl.

I would advise you to take my advice. You really seem serious about this contest. The big prize is the playoffs/superbowl part. If you think you could win against all other players then consider it. During the season if you pick the most correct and 100 other people have a record better than the "bookie" you only receive a $50 fp like everyone else who beats the "bookie".

I saw that. You didn't miss out on an exciting coaster ride. Maybe "the bookie" is having substance abuse issues and is taking some time off. We have to be sensitive to "the bookies" circumstances. I wish you the best, "the bookie".
