Early starter @ 6:30am ET. Japan is already in control of this group and will be looking for a business-like win to keep themselves in prime position at the top of the group. Iraq would love to steal a point on the road, but will be hard pressed to do so. Japan has conceded just once in three matches thus far, while scoring ten goals. That seems like a lot, but consider nine came against Oman & Jordan combined - the two worst teams in this grouping. The Jordan match also featured a red card that saw Japan bang home four goals after the card was deliverted. Iraq scored 1-1 draws with both Oman & Jordan so far in the group. Japan should have a solid shot to keep a clean sheet again. Iraq will need to find balance in attack and defense, but I would think will be playing a lot of defense if Japan control possession as expected.

[World Cup Quali] Austria-Germany Over 3 [-110]
By all accounts, Joachim Low was not pleased despite his team beating Faroe Islands, 3-0 last time. He was lamenting their lack of finishing in front of goal where he thought they could have added several more to the tally. I like that he is not complacent, so I expect the Germans will push hard again in attack. Austria have enough attacking talent with Martin Harnik perhaps highlighting that group. The Stuttgart striker would probably love to get on the score sheet today. If Austria gets on the board, I think this wins outright.

Guessing at the price as I have to wait for this to go live to take this wager, but I think it is warranted. The Dutch notched a 2-0 win over Turkey, but that did come at home whereas keeping a clean sheet in Hungary could be a tougher proposition. They also had problems defensively still in that match and were fortunate to keep a clean sheet. I still think the Oranje sport a shaky back line at times and if Hungary can apply enough pressure, I think they can sneak one home. They do have some injury concerns, but most of today's starting XI will be from the same group that beat Andorra, 5-0.

[World Cup Quali] Uruguay-Ecuador Over 2.5 [-130]
Uruguay is going to be expected to rebound @ home from that 4-0 beating at the hands of Colombia last time out. Both teams are sitting in qualifying positions in the group and are still within striking distance of Argentina. Uruguay does have a solid track record of scoring at home with multiple goals in four of their last five in International play. Ecuador has struggled at times to score on the road, but have also been much more giving defensively on the road as well. Uruguay could do all the work for this over themselves if they have the likes of Forlan, Cavani and Suarez firing - that has not happened with great frequency lately, but this is a big spot for them, so I expect a good performance. I also think Ecuador can exploit the somewhat leaky Ecuador D.

Normally I would think Uruguay would score in the first 25 or so, but that last performance was so atrocious I would be a little hesitant. Feel more comfortable giving them the full 90 minutes to see some goals.

I don't really worry about it. I've seen Overs get steamed to ridiculous #s and the unders hit and vice versa. I don't read much into it. Whatever happens seems coincidental and not directly related.
