Ok ladies, I've decided to start a thread to see if I can actually keep track of a record, help others out and increase / decrease my internet persona on a gambling forum.
Hey, everyone else does so why not join the party.

This thread will predominantly be soccer picks, but I may also sprinkle in some tennis, NBA, and just about any sport I have my head around, those are my 3 main hitters though.

I will have 2 types of wagers in here, I'm mostly a parlay guy, sometimes I get carried away with the length of them, I continue on with throwing in a hail mary here and there but rare as I've had some unbelievable hits in the past. Yes parlays are the death of most bank rolls & a squares best friend, but I've made a significant amount of dough betting this way the past couple of years, if you hit enough and know what you're doing they can be quite profitable.

Also will have single plays scattered in between, these will include a short write up, will keep a separate record for both.

My unit size is all over the place & it's nothing specific, to be honest it varies from play to play, I guess you could say I get lazy with money management. If I feel fuzzy inside about a single play I may drop a stack on it, just depends really. Although for the sake of this lame thread 1 unit = $100. All my plays will be made at Bet365, and will be shown in decimal odds.

Just weighing up some games now, I hit 3/3 tonight but only posted one, I wanted to post the other 2 but truth be told by the time I finished up placing all of them in between actually watching some of the games it was too late to post them. The one above was the first one I did as the games were on earlier and I had time to get it in here without too much fuss.

I'll see if anything looks good I'll most likely post one soon, enthralled in the cup final at the moment.

This one may not hit simple because the '2 or 3' goals market is good if your just adding 1 game, but I try not to include 2 in the same parlay unless I feel really good about both, Anderlecht don't score as often away from home and this market would've hit in 6 out of the last 7 games Lierse has been involved in. Regardless of that no one can tail the first leg as it just started 3 minutes ago. You'll still get around $6 odds if you just play the rest.

The La Liga game is an interesting one as the home sides form has turned around since the appointment of Diego Simeone, he has rejuvenated the back four that performed so badly earlier in the season to become almost watertight. As we all know Barcelona can unlock even the stingiest of defenses, but I feel Simeone's men will be up for it today and make it difficult for Barcelona to break them down, I think they have the quality back there to keep the Catalans to 2 goals or less here. Yes Barcelona bounced back to form against Valencia and there was a 20 minute stretch in that first half where they played the best football I have seen in a long time, basically untouchable, but you could hardly call valencia solid at the back at the moment. It's highly unlikely we'll see only 1 goal but should barcelona not completely blow them away I see a 1-2, 0-2, 1-1 type of scoreline. The rest of the legs I'm quite confident of cashing.

Even if this one loses, no drama - up over 4.5k today, will just dent my record in here & anyway - it's not about the record it's about the profit.

I just proved to myself why I try not to include more than 1 of those 2/3 goals legs in one parlay as no matter how good they look it's hard to hit 1 let alone 2 in the same multi. Goalless draw in belgium, I was right in the part where I said Anderlecht don't score too many away from home. I was leaning towards the under initially but got greedy and went for the bigger odds, watched most of the first half and it was a dull affair, was still a stalemate at the half and the games in Spain & Venezuela started in 10 minutes so I decided to chalk that one up as a loss and play the rest of that parlay excluding the first leg. Won't include that one in my record regardless of whether it's a win or loss.

Oh well, good day over all, I'll be back tomorrow.

Elgin draw at home to lowly Clyde to bring the payout of the parlay down significantly, my pick was 0,-0.5 on HW so basically how it's graded is 1/2 void, 1/2 loss, so that particular leg is subtracted from the parlay completely & then only half the original stake is applied to the other winning legs, so basically with that leg priced at $1.37, you banish that leg and half the stake applied to the remaining winning legs from 1u to 0.5u.

The price moved a lot in the last 10 minutes prior to kick off, from $1.37 to what I actually played it at $1.45 - I entered the bet right after adding the parlay in here, so that's a significant shift of 8c in the space of 5-10 minutes. (I'll adjust the winning amount accordingly in here) the move alone should've put up warning signs & it did. I really should've left it out all together, but sometimes I'm just a greedy fiend and can't help myself. Payout would've been bigger (7.13u) if I just left that leg out but hey, whaddayagonnado!

It was a chance for Elgin to really cement their playoff spot, they were in great form, piling up a lot of W's and had just beaten the league leaders Alloa 3-0 at home. Their home form was what was most impressive going 9-1-1 prior to this game - then in this one Clyde knick one before HT with Elgin clawing one back close to injury time for it to end 1-1. They had beat Clyde away around a week prior and Clyde had not scored in their last 4 away games while losing 7 of their last 9, so in theory it was the right pick but sometimes things just don't fall your way.

Oh well, it's a profit none the less.

Now here's a long one. I don't mind putting one of these together when I'm up for the week and have a bit of cushion to try one, I usually only play 1 or 2 of these a week and they hit often enough for me to keep trying them, I just liked this too much not to play. Normally it would seem dangerous as friendly's are usually harder to get a gauge on motivation and therefore more difficult to predict, but I've checked line ups for every team and ran my eye over everything else so I'm happy with the selections.
I suggest anyone tailing not to go too big on it for obvious reasons but I'm quietly confident that this will either hit or come very close. GL.

Well it was close, a single game in Scotland spoils the party, the 2 or 3 goals market denies me again. Might have to lay off that one for a bit as it has played the villain these last couple. I was pretty confident in it & it would've cashed in Ross County's previous 6 games, with 4 of those being 1-1 draws. and with two 1-1 stalemates the final outcome for 2 of the last 5 games by Ayr, I was counting on the chance there would be a similar scoreline yesterday. The BTS market would've probably been the safest here, but I decided to pass that up for the almost even money odds. Couldn't get a stream going and although it was looking like cashing up until 15 minutes to go, 2 goals were scored in the next 5 minutes with the final score being 2-3.

The safest way is always the best way with these but I decided to go the more riskier route this time and it cost me, I suggest anyone tailing these longer ones to keep in mind theres a reason why the odds are big and that's because no matter how good they look it doesn't take away the fact that they're much harder to hit & the amount of risk in reflected in the odds. To put it in perspective; in my mind I was almost 100% confident that last one would hit based on how I capped each game, otherwise I wouldn't of played it. When in fact - the implied probability of a parlay hitting at $27.22 odds is 3.67%, hell I hedged an amazing hail mary last month with $262 odds that I posted in the tennis forum, the likeliness of hitting that is 0.38%, but by the time all the other legs had cashed with me waiting for the last one, all of the sudden there's a 50% chance.
The point I'm making is these long shots are always tough to hit no matter how successful you've been at them and no matter how good they look, it only takes one leg to not get the memo and spoil the party. When this happens and you're not able to hedge it's important to remember - you only lost 1u, not the 20 you were trying to win.

Anyway, don't like anything today, might have one tomorrow.
