I havent locked anything in yet, i've been distracted! But here is something i wrote yesterday.

Hard one to pick I reckon, both sides are in similar form, and both have some slight injury concerns. Jets biggest problem is Jobe Wheelhouse will be out with a groin injury, he has been pretty good for the Jets and I think will be missed. I think Adelaide's biggest problem is they are coming off playing 3 important games in 8 days. They will now play their 4th in 13 days. Atleast this time they will have 4 days rest and time to regroup, but still, that's a pretty heavy schedule and they will be on the road again.

I am leaning towards Newcastle for the win, or safe bet for me would be to take both teams to score which I think is a very good chance to hit. And yep, over would be more than likely as well.

re-posting this from my thread just so people have an idea of my thinking-
To add the above, I am worried about Wheelhouse not being in the midfield for the Jets, and im not sure how it will influence them tonight. Also defender Kantarovski was tipped to be back in the side after Olyroos finished this week, but I was reading earlier that he is only landing from UAE this morning and I do not see how he will be fully recovered enough to play even if they do select him to start. If he doesn't start Van Egmond was running Taylor Regan and 17-year-old Connor Chapman in the defensive midfielder role at training on Thursday and said they would be the back-ups if Kantarovski was unable to take the field. I think either of these 3 in the defensive line will leave Jets slightly exposed.

Newcastle Jets have scored in 4 out of their last 6 games. They didn't score in their last game, but that was a rare off day for them on the road all the way across the other side of the country in Perth. Jets have managed just one clean sheet in their last 10 matches.

Adelaide have been the same. Conceding a goal in 9 out of their last 10 A-league games. Adelaide have also managed to penetrate the opposition net on a very consistent basis, including 9 out of their last 10 once more.

This just seems a good spot to take the both teams to score prop. The head to head match-up for these two has been close and this could go any number of ways IMO. I do think the Jets will come out on top, but with some changes in the squad, im not quite sure what to expect from their defence especially.

Even though I don't agree with the forum being used as an arena for battle, I do understand that scraps and tussles are a part of life. However, usage of the word "retard" in a cynical, malicious way is very offensive to some people and greatly diminishes the sincerity and impact of your core argument. The essence of your debate and power to exercise your right to an opinion is compromised by the method of using insults like the word "retard" to emphasize a point. Such displays of juvenile language and blatant, public disregard for other people's feelings whilst you engage in hostile voyeurism, suggest that you may not actually believe you have a winning argument per se, but would rather just win the argument. Those are two very different ideas, but should you have any constructive criticism or explicit knowledge you can debate rationally about, then I'm sure we'd all love to see it. Adelaide look sooo bad tonight, looks like it rained before the game, players barely keeping the ball onto their feet. If adelaide don't move forward more often they are done for the night

I ended up turning off the newcastle/adelaide game about 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Felt like a loser from the get go and ended up going to the pub to relieve some stress! I didn't see the rest of the game as they were showing the AFL at the pub, but I doubt it was much different to 1st half looking a the score.

I think Sydney win the early game actually, but I am not confident backing them. They are in good form and I think having Chianese in the side has made a big difference, and new keeper, not sure of his name. I am taking the over 2.5 in Sydney/Wellington game.

Chianese & Mallia stepping into the starting squad has really made the team click and are in good form, losing only once in their last 6 games. Phoenix have had their good run of form snapped and are now coming off 2 straight losses, but both losses came against arguably the top two teams in the league. They should be much more competitive against a Sydney side they have already beaten twice (but back at home) this year already and I doubt they will be shutout for the 3rd game in a row. Iffil always fires up against Sydney and he would be a good bet to score @ 3.20 as well.

Wellington have seriously impressed me this season, albeit most of that has been at home. I think they are a team that has heart, (no a-league pun intended) and have potential to hang with the big boys. again, i have been most impressed with their aggressive wins at home, but coming from a complete outsider, i have taken a liking to Phoenix more than any other team this year. I get a chance to feed my head with late night scotch, lauenbrau and purple kush...and watch these a-league matches on 365, its a great treat. There's just something about Wellington I like, I'm taking WEL PHO +0.5 @1.75, gonna watch and make an in-play as well, maybe BTS, Wel. TT, all depends on in-play markets.
