Hey all, I'm from Australia and I know quite a bit about the A-League, so I will be providing picks for some of these games most week, not this week as I just want a week to gauge what the league has in store for us, It is a very surprising league but one that can yield a profit.

So, keep your eyes peeled for threads that I make weekly for these picks, I do have my own European Football thread but I would like to keep A-League separate as obviously it is not in Europe.

For now heres just a little parlay for some fun;

Gold Coast vs Wellington - HT/FT Result: Gold Coast - Gold Coast @ 2.87
Perth Glory vs Adelaide United - Perth Glory ML @ 2.50

Adelaide looked rubbish without Floris.
Heart will score alot with Fred, but will leak goals too.
Roar seem to be the one to beat again
Perth looked good, that Brazilian looks like a good find
Sydney will be near the top, with if Carle and Emo stay fit

Let me just comment on football as a whole in Australia, it has grown so much and I am loving all the support starting to fall behind the sport.

The games I did watch I can comment on

Victory really do need to make the switch upfront from old to young, I love the signings of Covic and Fabio two great players, but we have two 33 year old's leading our attack, Allsopp looked horrible, he is way beyond the game. Archie had some flare, but how long of the season can he last? It's time to bring in some quality young talent to lead the attack now.

Gold Coast I do not know what to make of them, they really should have put a Wellington side away in the first half but didn't. Credit to Wellington though, they grabbed a 1-0 lead and held on the majority of the game but conceeded fairly late, Wellington will go alright this season, I think they can make the top6 provided injuries are not an issue.

Perth really are the jack in the box, you never know when they're going to come out and what they will show us, last season was a 1 off horrendous season I think, I like Perth to be pushing to get into the top 6 aswell.

What you think about Aussie vs Oman in Eurocup?

I think it will be an Australia win maybe a 2-1 or 2-0, I think that Oman +2,2.5 has some value @ 1.80

I can't see Australia doing what they did to Malaysia again, but to be honest I am not liking any of the plays on this game.

I like Reds as well.. especially after watching them vs Victory... im going to play that tomorrow. I'm going to attempt to not bet on any Victory games this season... too much bias... ill be their tomorrow night.. we should win, now with the coach waking up and playing players in the correct positions... need archie and solz up front.. harry as the number 10... rojas winging with Cernak.. I can't bet over 2.5, but should hit... heart have really young cb's, unless collismo is back, and they can score., but will be less potent with fred missing.. victory are yet to hit the net.. but I have a gut feeling the crowd will in for a treat... archie for first goal.. tap in.

They're my tip for this seasons title, apart from them you can't really rely on anyone

Their ACL campaign will make it very hard - look up A-League finals dates and correspond them with ACL match days. Even the non-conflicting ones will farigue them.
