why is Avispa Fukuoka a home team such an underdog? are they div 2 or something? as i never seen their name while betting div 1 japanese games.
any insight would be greatly appreciated

Yeah they play in J-League 2.
Tokyo is in the bottom three of J-League and Avispa is in the top three of J-League 2. I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between the leagues but the way I look at it there is a reason they are in different leagues.
Avispa has lost to two J-League 1 teams on the road in Kobe and Kashima and beat two teams from the league on the road in Sanfrecce and Ardija. They have yet to play a home game against a J-League 1 team. They are a very strong team posting a 12-4-2 record in the J-League 2 this year.
However my lean is on Tokyo for the following reason. Tokyo is undefeated on the road in the Emperor's Cup beating two teams from their own league and two from the 2nd league. The difference in leagues also drives me to lean on Tokyo for this match.
BOL on your pick.

Thank you very much for all that information and advice. Tokyo it is! i'd rather not bet on this game at all but I can't stop myself.
Thanks again.

I like Tokyo as well as they have been quite good in this competition.
