    I Love CORITIBA -125 tommorow, here's why
CORITIBA hosting Vasco De Gama Saturday 4:30 PM est.

I really like Coritiba at that price tomorrow for a few reasons.

LINEUPS - Vasco will be missing many key players tomorrow. Top goalscorer striker Alecsandro not slated to start (unknown), second leading scorer and veteran midfield leader Juninho out (yellow cards), third leading scorer striker Tenorio out (injury), starting veteran midfielder Carlos Alberto out (injury), starting defender Douglas out (red card), starting defender Dede out (injury). Needless to say, Vasco's not putting out one of their best sides tomorrow. Meanwhile, all you need to know for Coritiba is super red hot striker Deivid is playing. He has scored a goal in 8 out of his last 9 games.

FORM- Anyone who follows Brasilero knows how bad Vasco has been, but in case you didn't know, Vasco has not won a single game in their last 7 matches, and have lost 6 of those. While Coritiba got thrashed on the road last week, they have won 8 and drawn 1 of their last 10 home games.

SUMMARY- Vasco's collapse has pretty much killed any chance of a Libertadores spot for next year, and a team thats been awful for over a month might be mailing it in for the last 3 games of the season. They did right the ship ever so slightly with a home draw against Atletico Mineiro last week, but they had Alecsandro, Tenorio and Juninho in that lineup, and all of them are out. So you have a depleted team with their 6 slated strikers/midfielders having a combined total of 5 goals all season between them, going against a good home squad with a striker who has scored in 8 of his last 9 games.

I'm really expecting this to creep up to the -150 or -160 before game time. -125 seems like a great bargain to me.

But, you never know, soccer is a funny game.

I think it's also worth mentioning that Vasco's intended 4-5-1 formation will feature a 20 yr.old striker (Romario) who has played a whopping total of 31 minutes all season, and has never scored a goal in top level football. Their central midfielder/striker will be 18 year old Jhon Cley, who has also never scored a goal in top level football and has seen limited action.

Now, who knows, maybe one of these kids is the next Pele looking for his first chance to show the world their talents, but I'm leaning towards a couple of marginal players who are starting because there is nobody else left to play.
