A lot of City slickers got set up by Ajax big loss to Real Madrid (linear expectation is a bitch). But Ajax have lost big to Real for the past three years. And the main reason for that is that they play them with their usual open and attacking style, instead of parking the bus like most teams today, thereby allowing Real easy fast break opportunities. It's just a bad matchup for Ajax, wherein Real's extra quality is easily expressed in goals. But in Dortmund Ajax could certainly have won, and was very unlucky to not even get a point. To the widespread underestimation, fueled by Mancini's reference of 'two wins' against Ajax (where any good coach these days talks about 'one game at a time'), add home field advantage and CL experience, and this win was anything but unexpected.

Haha yeah correct. Ajax at Utrecht for the Dutch cup some weeks ago. Everything pointed to Utrecht (statistically) so I took Ajax and they won, fairly easy.
