Hello everyone,
Baseball begins today!!!
Last year we started a thread and using our over 40+ years years of handicapping baseball, incorporating traditional metrics such as starters, relievers, weather, umpires, etc. As the season progressed we noticed/developed a simply handicapping system based solely on relievers. This simple system produced a 360-265 season. (Regular Plays went 118-78 +23.60 units) Overall, we managed a 478-343 record. Here is the link for last year's thread:
To be clear, the sample size for the Reliever Plays is only one season, which in the scheme of things, is not very big, however we will be posting (time permitting) the Reliever Plays along with our Regular Plays once again this year. All of our Regular Plays are based on one unit. (We do not believe in 5 unit, 10 unit or 100 unit plays.) If we post it, we feel it's going to win. It does not mean it will win, as we all know!
A few words of caution:
1. Money management is the key. It's a long season with a lot of plays, (over 800 last season) We will have swings so do not allow a couple of losing days in a row affect your lifestyle. If you play any of these plays, I recommend 2% to 3% of your BR, but ultimately it's your decision.
2. Last year we started out slow. It's been my observation over the years that the beginning and ending of the season is the most volatile, so keep that in mind.
3. To quote a typical investment advertising disclaimer.... Past performance does NOT guarantee future results.
Having said all those things, I certainly plan to be on the plus side this year. As good as last year???? I can't say, but I will be working hard to achieve that goal.
Above, I gave the link to last year's thread. Some posts that may help answer your questions are"

Good luck to us all.
