636 Illinois St. -3.5 (-110) Bookmaker.com vs 635 Wis.-Green BayAnalysis: I like -3 a lot better, and shame on me for missing that last night - however, Illinois State should win by plenty. I have a ton of leans and will update them either throughout the day, or in that 5-6PM EST window as usual. The huge knock on Green Bay is free throw shooting. They suck at it - 64% for the season - which is NEVER something we back, especially on the road. Size-wise these two teams are pretty well matched, and Green Bay has a little more experience, but it's not like Illinois State in INEXPERIENCED. They're a far more versatile offense and obviously at home, where they're only losses since 2015 started were to Northern Iowa and Witchita State - go figure. However, they BEAT the Shockers in the Conference Tournament and gave Northern Iowa a run for their money. I doubt the expectations were to be in the Dance, although surely it was a consideration. The point is - they WANT to play this game and this Tournament. On the other hand, Green Bay HAD to have more lofty expectations and perhaps this is just something they HAVE to do. Same as last season, where they were 24-5 in the regular season, then lost in the first round of the Conference Tournament, then were pasted at home by Belmont. History will repeat itself - Illinois State as a MUCH younger team won two post-season games at home. They got a very lengthy bench - which always helps. Not only in a potentially up-tempo game (both the teams and the shot clock) but it's just easier to find the hot hand. They shoot well enough at the line to cover - so if they've got a reasonable lead down the stretch they'll be fine - and Wisconsin GB sucks from the perimeter so scoring in bunches for the bull sh*t cover is less likely to happen. Out.
