    Handicapping services
hey guys im new here and have been reading the forums for a while now. I love betting on sports and made 94 bets last year during football season winning 45 of them. I was doing some research and came across doc sports where you can buy his picks. According to his statistics he is a consistent winner winning about 60% of the time. It also said that if u bet $100 per unit you would have won over 5 grand last year during the football season. If those stats are true then the only way to lose using his system is to not follow it exactly. Does anyone have any experience using his picks and strategies everytime by the book?

Go with it. All those Touts never lie about their records. It's just like television, they can't show it unless its true.

Not sure why so much bashing. I think this is something most bettors think of at one point or another. I'd have to admit I haven't heard to much bad about Doc sports but on flip side haven't heard tons of good things either though I'm sure others could talk more about them. I'd say check them out shop around for others make your choice for you just be careful and know when to get out if things get fishy.

Here's the thing about Docs service:

It may state that they are up 5 grand however you have to look deeper into just what they are trying to sell you.

Case in point...Docs guy Robert Ferringo... nice guy, good handicapper... but if you go to his site it will say "Up 11 grand since June" however what they fail to tell you is that he lost 12 grand the 3 months prior.

It's all marketing hype. Hype to get rookie gamblers like yourself to buy into their service. It's not a bad thing, its just how this business works.

You also have to realize that in order to be up that much in a short period of time you have to be betting a lot of games at $100/play. If you are playing 15 games a weekend ( which you most likely would be ) you would have to shell out $1500 to follow their system. If you have the bankroll for that then it might not seem like a bad idea, however on some weekend when they go 4-11 just remember that thats a $800 loss ( including juice). A few of those and you are in trouble. The same with their 5 unit, 6 unit, 7unit Games of the Year ( in the second week of the season ) that they expect you to risk $500, $600, $700 on a single game...thats a lot of money for any gambler, nevermind someone who is just learning. I'm not saying that those numbers are false, just saying that they are skewed and not a realistic representation of their so called system for the average gambler.

                  Upvoted.

Services like Doc's and Covers are well known for cherry picking their stats, showing you only the positive stats while conveniently hiding the negative ones. If you're thinking of subscribing to their service, I would email them first and ask for complete records for the handicapper you are looking to purchase.

                  Buyer beware.
