A question for all the service plays thread posters..
Are you actually allowed to post the touts plays on here for everyone to fade/follow for free? what would happen if someone like dom chambers found out that a guy bought his plays and was giving them away for free on here? wouldnt the touts be pissed because they're missing out on more money if these other people bought their plays? Any legal issues or anything like that?

This has been a long standing argument on forums like these. As far as the legality of it; there are no legal ramifications for posting a touts plays on a forum like this, however if you post their write-ups or any copyrighted information for that matter then yes you could be looking at legal issues. That is why a majority of forums only allow the play itself, not the write-up. Also posting units/size of plays could potentially cause legal issues as well since online sportsbetting in the US is still illegal ( except in Vegas), posting units could be looked at as promoting online gambling...while I'm not sure if it is truly illegal, a majority of places consider it the "gray area" and thus just don't allow it simply to be on the safe side.

As for the ethical issue behind posting a play, thats all up to the individual. If people want to give away for free what they pay for then thats up to them. I'm sure from a business standpoint a handicapper or service isn't thrilled with the idea of the plays that they are trying to sell get posted for free as I am sure it would affect their overall sales but there really isn't too much they can do about it.

But look at it like this, if you had information that no one else had but a bunch of people wanted and you sold it to one person, then he turned around and just gave it away to everyone who wanted it for free, would you be happy about it??

Technically when you purchase a package from one of Budin's clown cappers, real or fake, it says in the fine print that you are not allowed to share the play/opinion with anybody else. If they catch you posting the plays, or write-ups, your subscription will be terminated and you will not be refunded any money.

So when you pay for plays and post them on a sports forum such as this you are always taking the chance that your subscription will be terminated.

i think that it actually HELPS the cappers sell picks. If they are really bad or good, word gets out and they sell picks/packages.

If they are in obscurity and no one knows about them or tread in the middle, they will get zero paid customers. At least this way someone or some group always picks them up. Would they rather have 10 paid picks sharing with the world, or 1-2 (if that many) but non-sharing?

I quite frankly do not comprehend how a majority stay in this business year after year with such mediocre results. Besides lang and hondo, cant think of one reliable consistent fade, for instance. And hondo is free.

          Excellent answer!

There are posters that believe we (staff) enjoy handing out infractions, warnings, etc for violations in this forum. Personally, I really don't enjoy handing them out, I feel like I am slapping a kid on the hand each time. However, this is my job and part of that is doing my best to ensure this sub forum follows the guidelines set in place by the owners/management. These guidelines aren't just to make people's life difficult they are there for legal reasons. Hopefully posters can understand the logic behind the actions...

I came from the world where we talked to people instead of infracting them so it has taken some time to get use to slapping the wrist. I still would much rather talk to people about what they do wrong, but alas thus is life and it's part of the job...

Very odd that you say that since I received an infraction a month or so ago and could never find anyone to tell me what the infraction was, just got a runaround and ignored emails.

I do not handle the emails, so if they were ignored I am sorry.

I gave you one back in March for either giving or receiving points in the service plays forum but other than that, it shows January as your last one before that. However, looking at the thread in which it was given I do see where I stated the SBR policy on the issue so everyone would understand.

I would agree to a point. It may help a capper sell picks if they are just starting up or stuck in the middle but if they are posted on a forum consistantly for free, why would someone else purchase them and not just wait for the person to post it? See my point? Cajun Gambler posts Jimmy Boyd daily, UZI posts Chambers and Lang...you think anyone else from this forum is going to buy them?

Yes, because I don't like having to wait around on somebody else.

Haha it's a picture a friend of mine made. I thought it was different so I used it, looking for another one to switch it out with but no luck so far. After years of being "suggested" what kind of avatars to have, it was nice to have something completely random and pointless.
