    Pick one, Blind or Deaf?
If you had to chose, and could keep only one of these two senses, which one would you keep, and why?

Answer is not the slam dunk you may think.

Answer is DEFINITELY the slam dunk I'd think. No question, I'm keeping my eyes. Not a debate. EVEN if I couldn't talk because I lost my hearing.

Maybe the sense of touch vs vision would be a better contest?

Tough choice. I'd probably choose deaf so that I could still have conversations and listen to music. BUT, I'd DEFINITELY miss looking at Dad's hot babe photos here on SBR that's for sure!

I'd choose to be deaf. I can barely hear shyt anyways.

I feel my life would be least disrupted comparing to being deaf or blind.

Not being able to have conversations with people would suck, but using e-mails and text messages would suffice, maybe learn sign language, haha. There are also all this talk to text crap coming out too. Not being able to hear music or listen to the radio would also be rough. But I would still be able to watch movies, TV, and sporting event. Can even use subtitles.

I love to travel and play and watch sports. Sight is a big part of that. I don't really see the point of traveling around if you can't actually see.

Also, I don't know what I'd do for work being blind. Couldn't imagine being very productive at anything.

Slam dunk for me; take my hearing, not my sight.

My girlfriend is deaf in one ear and can only hear in the other with a hearing aid..She talks normal. She makes bank teaching sign to parents of deaf and autistic kids.

Her brother is stone cold deaf and is cool as shit and women throw him pu$$y constantly. He drives across country buying and selling motorcycles, talks to people thru email and in person typing on an ipod. Try doing that being blind.

As far as sign language, I've only picked up finger spelling, but I think you could pick up sign pretty quick if you had to and then spell the words you didn't know.

I knew a blind girl a while back.
We had this discussion, and she pointed out that significant research showed deaf people to feel far more isolated than the blind.
When asked this question most answer based on what they feel they will be able to do, rather than how they will feel.

I found that perspective very interesting, and I can imagine how losing speaking and hearing would be much more isolating.

My buddy was married to a deaf girl and now dates a blind one. It was much easier with the deaf girl. She could read lips and go to the restroom herself. Blind girl can here a pin drop from across a room, which means we have to be careful of what we say, and always needs an escort to the restroom. Hands down life would be easier with a deaf girl if in a relationship.
