DENVER, Colorado (Reuters) - A masked gunman shot dead 10 people and wounded 30 to 40 others at a showing of new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" at a movie theater in the U.S. city of Denver, local radio station KOA reported on Friday, citing witnesses.The radio station said a figure in a gas mask had opened fire at the late-night showing in a mall in the suburb of Aurora and set off a smoke or tear gas bomb. Aurora, Colo. police say there are fatalities but they don't know how many.

Police dispatchers say calls about the shooting started coming in about 12:30 a.m. Friday from a mall theater that was showing the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises."

Police say one person has been arrested, but no other details were available.

Police spokeswoman Cassidee Carlson says "the scene is still very active and we have little information for release at this time."

Swedish Medical Center spokeswoman Nicole Williams says two of the injured have arrived at her hospital in critical condition, and they hospital has been told there could be several more.

Again, gun laws just keep honest people more honest. Even if they were banned, guns would still be easily obtainable to anybody that wanted one. Any semi-intellectual person already knows this. I'm sorry that you don't fall under that umbrella.
