#5Played it in the arcade, had it on NES with the fearsome Bears D and Bo Jackson, Tecmo Super Bowl.. and when Xbox 360 released Tecmo Bowl (without player names) years ago.
Great game.Comment -

#6Tecmo bowl?....I still remember Intellivision!...best football game ever!...we would play that non-stop for hours...back in the day, this was actually considered high tech stuff...I still have the whole playbook memorized!...as a matter of fact in this video clip, the guy that is controlling the offense is calling the plays #9824 and #9817...two very effective plays that are almost unstoppable because you can throw a quick pass or take off running and easily get 5+ yards on every play.

#8I always preferred Super Tecmo Bowl. Running the Oiler's Run-N-Shoot Offense was near unstoppable.Comment -

I remember when a buddy of mine got an Intellivision when I was a kid and I thought it was the most awesome thing ever.
Games have come a long way in the last 40 years. I wonder if the games from 2060 will make the games from 2020 look laughable.Comment -

#17Played Super Tecmo Bowl with my son in an original nintendo system two days ago. The one I had as a kid.
Each time you win a game the "level" of the other team kicks up a tick.
Once you're at like 8-0, that's when it really kicks up. You might even find a few unexpected fumbles too.
We also played the original Bases Loaded.

I always picked the team that had Paste on it. I think he had the most homers.Comment -

#29Bears D also had Singletary, whoI *think* could also block the XP each time? Taylor on NY did, like you said, cincy.
Bases Loaded still gets quoted to this day with a few friends... like posted, "You bum! Out!" was classic. The name Norkus is always funny to say. Paste was a legend. Great game, along with the original NES RBI Baseball.
All these games, the sequels fell short, other than Tecmo Super Bowl. But these are absolute classics, I love threads about this stuff.Comment -
