    Anyone work for Amazon?

I received a job offer for an Area Manager position in their warehouse. Great money but the hours suuuuuck. And all the reviews i've read say they work you to death and the money isn't worth the hours. They consistently do 12-14 hour shifts and switch between graveyard and day shifts.
Wondering if anyone works for them and have any insight on this. I went ahead and accepted it, supposed to start on the 17th but after reading all the reviews, I may rescind my acceptance.
Graveyard shift is typically 7pm to 6am and day shift is 7am to 6pm

    Stock options?

    401k match?

I mean come on....if you get vested options you may be a millionaire in 10 years here regardless.

Probably a ton of work because the company literally crushes everyone’s ass in their way. What isn’t a lot of work though? I’d rather be part of the world beater organization than the ones getting beat on with no future. I’d check it out and see for yourself.

I own a business and candidly the only people that write reviews on us are usually disgruntled to begin with, lazy or just unhappy people in general. You sort of know who they are within 90 days. Not saying we don’t have a ton of opportunities because we do but you get what I’m saying. I think Amazon has a lot of upside but no doubt you will need to be flexible at first. Good luck.

Lawn care a great business. If I didn’t do what I’m doing today... it’s a business I would 100% look at.

Been doing a lot of yard work at my house during this quarantine, and I know now that I for sure do not want to be a gardner as a job. It sucks!

22 units of restricted stock options. you get 5% vested at 1 year anniversary, another 15% at 2 year anniversary, then 20% every 6 months. so 4 years to get the whole 22 units

401k sucks. They match 50% up to your 4%. So you put in 4% and they match 2%.

Get yourself into an electric apprentice school, or work for the railroad which also requires school

LOL. I hear you. For me, it would be to get away from all the headaches of my current business. I get it though. Would have to take a huge haircut.

Decisions are only as good as your options.
if you are an established player in the league...comfortable financially...you sit out the 2020 season.
if you are strapped and/or need to prove yourself...you play.
obviously so many other personal factors to weigh but what do you have to lose vs gain?

Well those 22 units are worth about 70k. Not sure what the strike price will be, but another 8% of 401k matching so let's just say you made $50k year. 4 years is $200k in income PLUS $16k in 401K plus $77k in stocks.

It's a nice 4 year plan at $50k and I'm guessing you're more likely starting at $65k anyway.

Do it...for 4 or 5 years. Maybe stock will go to $5k by then or pay big dividends

Good point.. The pay is double that actually.. Sounds like more votes towards giving it a try and grinding it out

Amazon pays 100k+ to work on the floor? Or did you accept a job as management?

Ya it's area manager role. On the floor in the wharehouse leading 50 to 200 people that take the product from shelves and put in boxes. Yup, little bit over $100k, 22 units of stock vested over 4 years. But the hours suck, some of the shifts will be 6:30 pm to 6:30am
