Nope, still easier today as everything including betting options and the transfer of funds can all be done online now as apposed to having to hop in your car and meet some sleezy bookie at a breakfast joint once a week.

Needless to say calling in all your bets everyday was a pain in the asssss also. Often the line was busy and I would have to call and call again til you i thru during the busy times. Didn't have call waiting back then or voicemail either. You always ran into the chance of your bookie getting pinched and going away to jail when you were up on him or her also back then..
