    So The IRS Sends You a Refund Check By Mistake For 980K. What’s Your Next Move

    Saw this happened to a guy in Florida. Bought a Lexus and put the rest in a money market account. IRS found out. Seized the car and got about 900k back. What would some of you guys do

    True story, bought a 4 figure sum of bitcoin from coinbase when they offered instant buy via bank ACH, in like 2013, money never was taken out of my checking. Still haven’t heard anything to this day. Withdrew BTC no problem.

    If it was 9.8 MILLION okay then yes try to funnel money around. If its 980k, I'm likely investing it into a midgrade or junk bonds, 5-10% yield, IRS interest is 2% or whatever but their error might be waived. Either way 6 months spread of 5% = ~$25,000 to keep. 980k is not enough to be happy for rest of life running / no career. No thanks.
