Never been to Jamaica but have been to Bahamas many times, Bahamas has casinos and sportsbooks, not sure about Jamaica.

One thing I know for sure is that Bahamas is much safer, not even close.

my personal preference is the bahamas.

depends on where you are coming from. they are pretty similar islands imo so if it was up to me it would come down to flight time.


if you are going for casinos bahamas would definitely be the spot.

bahamas law enforcement presence much like in the US; jamaica you can do pretty much anything you want.

if you plan to party, go to jamaica -- you won't feel nervous about buying weed or anything else you might want to sample

i prefer jamaica due to the more laid back atmosphere

But am I at risk of being kidnapped or murdered? I really want to go but I keep hearing they are in a state of

jamaica's main industry is tourism.... they generally know to leave your ass alone otherwise they risk losing the goose that laid the golden egg....

my wife and I went (got married there) during that time in 2010 when the island's leading king pin was hiding out in kingston and the country was almost put on lock down; we flew into montego bay and never felt threatened. stayed in negril; I highly recommend negril....

fly into montego bay, stay out of slums around kingston and elsewhere, you should be fine. I feel safer in jamaica by far than I do anywhere in mexico....

in negril, I met Farmer John, who is the local in charge of the drug trade on that end of the island, within an hour of arriving.... bought weed at a little bar in the airport (bar tender asked me if I needed a beer, ordered a red stripe and he asked, "do you need anything else?") and I had a healthy sized bag of damn good sticky five minutes later.... great bud. It took about five mins to show up, and during that time the little bus to negril showed up and a bunch of people had to wait while I waited, causing my wife (who didn't know the deal was going down) to tell me to hurry up. the bar tender said, don't worry, that bus isn't going anywhere til his weed gets here, my brother drives the van.....

got the weed, and it was so potent it started stinkin' up the entire van (in a good way), such that my wife was getting agitated with me (there were some obvious non-weed friendly old people on the bus with us).... we get dropped at some all-inclusive, and my wife goes off on me with "I can't believe it, were in Jamaica for ten minutes, and you're already doing drug deals"..... good times


guy walking down the beach screaming "weed, shrooms, blow" introduced me to Farmer John after I told him a little white might be good to enhance the mood.... it wound up being peruvian gold

even had a guy pull up on a jet ski when we were way out in the water on a small blow up raft, trying to sell us weed.... I said I'll take a joint or a blunt, but all he had was bags by the ounce.... like I'm soakin' wet on a tiny raft and gonna buy f'n weed that will get soaked.... bottom line, it's everywhere and not frowned upon at all by the locals....
