Congrats. You could have put $5,500 of that in a roth IRA and hit 18-25% return on it with your eyes closed. Instead, you gave the government an interest free loan. This broken thinking of your tax return as a savings account is what keeps the poor poor.

Also have a house that I built which cost 475,000 and I got it for 212,000 Through a first time home buyer program so who really is winning? That's right I am

Nino every year you can present irrefutable evidence that a refund is bad and every year people will cheer the fact that they are getting a refund.

Loan me $11,000. Next April, I will pay you back...$11,000. Then, you will have...wait for it...$11,000!!! And, you won't have that $11,000 to spend, and you can pay off some debt next April. Sounds like a winning proposition, yes?!

Up your exemptions, take 900/mo and put it in an IRA. I know you're 28 and YOLO and all that but trust me, it's good advice. You take that 11k + your 900/mo and in 22 years you have over 500k.

You understand that with all your post you are just saying , that you can't control yourself and must use overpaying all year so you have something at then end to show for it. Instead you could just use that money all year long invest properly and have even more profit?

Ah, deflection because you are wrong or just don't understand what people are telling you. This is about tax returns, I try to owe every year so I can have control of my own money, has nothing to do with what I use it for.

Normally yeah, but this year's a little different. Getting a refund by accelerating itemized deductions made available by the tax changes in December. Couldn't have foreseen that.

Took out markers, then paid them back.

Deducted the markers as a Casino loss, because they can't tell otherwise.

Casino forms are not official and can do have errors. The IRS knows this.

Keep your own records, that's what the IRS wants to see, and add lemon to your water and cayenne pepper.
