How Much Money Can You Get For A Pound of Empty Cans in USA?

Here in Canada it is 16 cents a can and about six dollars for a pound. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to drive to Buffalo and exchange it there since the Canadian dollar is weak

From my calculations it would be about 7 cents canadien so probably not worth it. Also I do not think U.S stores will take canadien cans but I could be wrong.

You will only get 1 cent per can once they find out they are Canadian cans.

Yes a lot of bums in major cities do it. It is good if you are desperate for money. I did it a few times when I was younger but only worth it if you have a truck or something to load all of them in.

Wait a second, isn't the Canadian dollar worth more than the American dollar?

And if you can get $6 per per pound for aluminum in Canada, don't bother coming to the U.S. The Last I heard, aluminum is under 50 cents a pound here.

    Where do you live, Kermit?

Pretty sure it's $1.59 per pound right down the road from me (California).

I don't have any cans to turn in, Gaucher.

All of my recyclables go into the recycle trash can for the city.

Around Christmas I had about 5 bags of cans that were sitting around my backyard that I turned in and about 250.00 in change that I dumped into the coinstar for an amazon gift card. I always thought I should have made a video of that and pretended like it was for gambling.

Seaweed this new hobby of yours perks my interest. Even guys who drop a G on a single nhl game need a hobby. Can you post a picture/video please of your combined two hobbies. Like. 10 pounds of cans by your feet(transparent bag o.k.) and printing a winning G nhl ticket . big ass smile please. Kinda like the publishers clearing house sweepstakes commercial where you are jumping around and hooting . redwings redwings. 6 bux a bag!!! except there is a lot of clatter and metallic squishing noises. Thanks.
