Grocery shopping nowadays reminds me of when I collected baseball cards in high school. The difference is instead of trying to get a pack with a Tony Gwynn or Wade Boggs, I'm trying to find a grocery aisle with white rice or toilet paper.

That sucked as I had an angry black women cuss me out in line while we were waiting as she thought I cut in front of her. Wasn't true I don't think. It took everything I had to not slap this women.. People in line were just stunned. I said Calm down Woman go ahead and she went off on me. I'm laughing now..

Anyways I made it back alive. $250 worth of food and liquor and surprisingly the shelves were reasonably stacked with everything I needed.. No paper goods and no almond milk and that was it.. Had my clorox wipes in hand and kept my distance..
Stock up on as much food as you can now, Jibby. This shit is just going to get a lot worse.

Was previously eating out, hadn't been to the grocery store in a while except for a few things here & there. Luckily, I stocked up about 10 days before all this went down. (I didn't know what was going to happen)

I went again Saturday & Sunday the weekend after the NBA suspended play, and again yesterday. I've got food for at least 6 weeks.

Probably going to risk it though & get takeout this weekend.

Ditto, lots of salmon and spinach in freezer, learned to cook from my parents, dried fruit and nut supply, bulk legumes, pasta, rice, quinoa and coffee all on hand, can for now still do light, socially-distanced shops for fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, milk, yoghurt. Got skim milk powder in case. Good water filter. Can bake bread and make own yoghurt if necessary. Improvised a home gym, 3 sessions a week + can still go jogging for the time being. Don't drink or smoke. Please keep healthy everybody!

no need to go to the super market, just order online and pic up or have it delivered, heavily promoted everywhere

gave it a try, went thru the entire process, takes quite a bit of time, get to the last step
no available times today, no available times tomorrow, no available times the next day or the next
the next available time for pic up was 7 days away

                                      Sounds like Instacart?

If you don’t mind paying a fee try Shipt.

Totally worth it for me to get earlier delivery time slots.

                                      Costs $10 per month.

Can't get anything for delivery less then 10 day wait time up here. Got plenty of food though.

Have a upright freezer for storage of meats and many other things.

Got many dried goods like beans, rice, flour.

There is no chance I will eat from out while this is going on

Been a wannabbe chef for years so no problem their. Cook everything at home. Never ever do restaurant pick-up. penetrate that shyte. Only drive through i go to is Starbucks. So if your an old fart, meaning over 65, many stores set aside the first hour they open for seniors usually 1-2 days a week. Ck you local stores out for that. Freezer with plenty of meat, fish and chicken. So when i do go so early in the AM, not many people around...and the stores are stocked pretty good...even got hand sanatizer the other day, had to ask though, it was behind the pharmacy counter. GL to everyone..

Basically we stick to eating at home, or eating at some of the high end restaurants that will cook for a specific number of loyal customers per day. Lots of Rib Eye Steaks and Filets at home, plus Shrimp, Crab and Cod from the sea, Chicken and Pork Loin for Taco's. Fortunately in the town I reside in, 90% of the people who live here have a brain and took this seriously from day 1. Consequently we have been extremely fortunately to have only 1 case of COVID-19 reported so far. Credit where credit is due. I am certainly not a Gavin Newsom fan but if the other idiot Governors in New York, Louisiana, Florida, Illinois, and the rest of the nation (minus Washington State) had done what he forced the people in the State of California to do, the rest of the nation would be in far better shape than they are in now.
