I'm doing some research here on liquor preferences. Why do you buy that bottle over and over. What is it about the taste, specifically? What got you into it to begin with? Was it the name? The design of the bottle? The branding? Layered descriptions would be appreciated.
What's your go-to spirit and why?

The start of the 'marketed spirit'
Producers create brands to satisfy niches now. Organic, small batch, local ingredients, fake price points, celebrities endorsed for different demographics.
Very small differences in actual quality of final product. Even less difference in cost to produce.
Example (beer):
Miller High Life case retails for 16.99
Miller Genuine Draft case details 18.99
Miller Gen Draft is nothing more than unpasteurized High Life (aseptic production/ cold filtered to remove yeast). It costs less to produce yet they charge 20% more per case.
Why? Because High Life has a marketed image as a bit low brow, MGD marketed as a premium full bodied choice comparable to Budweiser.Comment -

#13I don't drink rum very often, but when I do I get the Admiral Nelson or Lady Bligh.
Half the price of Captain and I do not taste the difference.
My go to spirit is Jameson.Comment -

#14It all started with box wine years back. Then I Graduated to these 2 red wines below for around $10 bucks a pop because of the better taste.. Then unfortunately I graduated again to even better tasting and more expensive wines.. It ain't cheap.. End of story...

#21I used to drink scotch exclusively. Single malts. Speyside, Glenlivet etc. Great stuff. Now just vodka. Grey goose is overrated. Prince Igor extreme only. Shit is the bestComment -

#22Tequila
When I lived in Miami and went out, I'd get Seleccion Arte 1414 from this one lounge, can't remember the name. The bottle's nice and it's a balanced Tequila. My friend was a table host there and she recommended it.
At the house I'd have Cazadores Extra Anejo. For the price (something like 50 bucks), it's great.Comment -

#23Is there anything related to the design, the packaging, the labeling, that made you choose that vodka initially? You stayed for the taste, yeah, but what led you to it, specifically.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

But IPA specifically is tasty, and it's different from other beer. So, I drink it. I prefer Belgian beers like...St. Bernardus. And there's problaly "better" belgian beers out there. But that whole hipster scene where people are foaming at the mouth with all of the details is wack. Just drink what you fkn want.Comment -

#32I actually tried the regular Prince Igor(red color sticker) but I didn't like that so I tried the 45%extreme. Nothing to do with the design etc. Just the crisp taste.Comment -

#33Budweiser if I want to feel like a true American
It was just being discussed the other day America has no brand loyalty anymore
back in the day our Grandpa’s wouldn’t get off of Ford and buy another truck no matter what
now days people switch brands just to do it or b/c it’s a fad or b/c some rapper drank it on instagramComment -
