Went on a date tonight with a Persian...recovering gambling addict oh

As the title says. We had met for lunch briefly before but went out tonight and it was a good time. We got to discussing our travels and she explained to me how she had a rough childhood from 14-20. I asked why and she said she was addicted to gambling during these years. She’s past it all now and hasn’t gambled in 3-4 years. I did not bring up the fact I gamble regularly but needless to say, going to let that connection die.

Not about to ruin a woman who admitted she had a problem to something I enjoy myself. Have you ever gone out with someone who gambles a lot or used to?

I couldn’t care less if people drink around me when I’m trying to quit. If I can’t handle that then I’m already doomed anyway. Not gonna sit around and try to change the world telling everyone how bad it is. Especially to people who don’t have an issue with it.

Pretty crazy to be addicted to gambling at that age. I was gambling then but nothing crazy yet. I’d probably just not tell her and see what happens. But good on you for being cool with walking away. Could probably tell her that so she doesn’t think you just ghosted her cause you don’t like her.

I’ll tell her my thoughts and I agree it is a slippery slope I don’t want to tempt her on.

Her story is when she visited the Middle East with her family occasionally, underground gambling was heavy. She got roped in and it was exciting for her. It continued in college online and in person when able.

Sucks cause she got a bike herself, always wanted a girl to go riding with when I get my new bike. Not to mention very attractive. Maybe we’ll stay in touch.
