The story, headlined “'It was getting ugly’: Native American drummer speaks on his encounter with MAGA-hat-wearing teens,” previously touted Phillips as a Vietnam War veteran but those references were later removed with a correction explaining that he had not served in Vietnam.
“Correction: Earlier versions of this story incorrectly said that Native American activist Nathan Phillips fought in the Vietnam War. Phillips served in the U.S. Marines from 1972 to 1976 but was never deployed to Vietnam,” according to a note at the end.Comment -

The kid didn't do anything. He never spoke when Phillips got up into his face. He didn't move. The whole group was yelled at and insulted for a long time. The Hebrew Israelite group has over 2 hours of uninterrupted video that shows that whole thing. Now that the entire story has surfaced this is what I know - Kids were getting harassed by the black Israelites hate group, the Native American Vet that was banging the drum came up to the kids, kids didn't come up to him..
The drumming man has a checkered history and was almost arrested just the other day for disturbing the peace at a church..
Kid that was smirk faced didn't break the law and did just stand his grouind, didn't do anything but make the stoic smirk face and remained in place to impress his friends. That was clear..

Actually the title is still pretty accurate. I saw lots of kids at that event who were acting like punks, and they were definitely mocking Native Americans- you disagree? However, if you want me to edit the title to something that makes you feel better, then I can definitely do that for you.

And this is why I said I was wrong about my initial post. Those black guys are just batshit crazy, and their only mission was to try and provoke people. I have no idea why anyone would even stand around and listen to the garbage and hate that they spew. They're so desperate for attention they'll say the most outlandish, sickening remarks just to get it. I'd never even heard of that fringe group before this incident.
Also, the Native American group put themselves right into the lion's den, and I heard members of that group saying more racist crap than any kid did on tape. The media then inaccurately and unfairly attempted to demonize these kids as if they were the instigators while painting all other parties involved as being innocent. Not only that, but the kid who was front in center of it all was probably the most subdued and respectful of the bunch.
Despite all that, the kids in the video reacted poorly and they shouldn't have circled around the old man while hooting and hollering like a bunch of dumbasses. All groups involved have culpability here for the way things played out. So many ways this could have easily been avoided.
The way the media spun this out of control and took things out of context is the real tragedy of it all though. And the way they were trying to hold kids to a higher standard than the adults is ridiculous. I'm just glad there's full video footage so everyone can watch it and come to their own conclusions and not be spoonfed what to think from the media.Comment -

Happens all the time.. Media can and is often times the people's true enemy. They twist spins on stories to pull on heart strings for ratings and public racial outrage.. That's the main goal with the media and social media most of the time as it pulls views and ratings.. One side of the story reporting should be a crime in itself.
