I haven't researched it fully, but apparently this f'n "hero", in addition to being a stoolie for the VC and giving up critical info, was also primarily responsible for starting a fire on his carrier, the USS Forrestal, by "wet starting" his f'n jet to showboat and send a message to the pilot behind him, and it blew some shit up and killed 130-something US sailors, and injured about 150 more.....

I wasn't on the deck of the Forrestal that day, so can't say for sure..... I do note that usually if a news publication comes out and directly states that a famous person is directly responsible for the death of over 130 people and serious burn injuries to another 150 or so and it's NOT true, said famous person -- in this case McCain -- would usually sue the shit out of the news publication for libel.....

the fact that McCain, who was present in a jet about to take off from the deck of the Forrestal when the fire occurred, didn't do so is somewhat telling.....

McCain's involvement with the Keating scandal is rather well-documented, as well.....
