I remember I use to break dance myself with friends, bust out the card board and lay it down on the city corner blocks in Westwood Village out here in Cali near UCLA, we'd hit the ghetto box play button and let the early rap music play, RUN DMC, FatBoys, etc.. Other break dancers would show up and there would be battles.. Big crowds would gather.. It was innocent fun when I was 14 and 15 years old. I quickly grew out of that faze though.

that was primarily in the sixties, at least the "sprayed with hoses" part of the civil rights movement.....

some great vids exist on it..... i remember dudes literally flying and doing cartwheels when being hit with the spray of the fireman's hoses......
